I hate to speculate, but can this blind item possibly be about Christina Applegate and Selma Blair, who was also diagnosed with MS. They were incidentally, both in the movie The Sweetest Thing:

Did they both have chicken pox? Mono? Studies are linking MS to Epstein–Barr virus which is in the herpes family. So is chicken pox. So is measles. So is pityriasis rosea. So any of those could be a cause for MS. Also, childhood trauma can has been linked to MS as well. There was a study submitted to the University of Washington on things I don't quite understand with solar flares, northern lights and the iron in the earth and our bodies and why MS is usually concentrated around the 60th parallel. There's also a theory that MS is caused by vitamin D deficiency. Again which would support the 60th parallel and why they are seeing a rise of MS in women in strict Muslim countries.

The video of her at the unveiling of her star on the Hollywood walk of fame is heartbreaking to watch, also very touching to see her TV mother Katey helping her stand up.
