Comedians shouldn't be billionaires
There ought to be a law
shareThere is a movie in that thought somewhere....
A great comedian, because of his wealth, loses the ability to make people laugh.
He loves getting laughs more than money, and goes through ridiculous plans to be funny once again.
You should develop that with Netflix and have Jerry or Adam Sandler more or less play themselves.
shareThey already made it:-

you know whats funny? he was never very funny
shareTaking into account inflation, the only other comedian that would beat Seinfeld in terms of net worth $$$ would be Johnny Carson.
I had to look Carson up. I was expecting $50 million or so. If he amassed over $300 million, it had to be from sources other than just as salary for Tonight Show which was probably only a few million per year. In the case of Cosby and Seinfeld, the vast bulk of their fortune came not from their initial salaries from NBC but from the huge sums from syndication.
shareThis sheds some light on Carson's fortune. As you surmised it seems to be a combo of salary and investments. Tho he made more from TTS than you surmised.

People who say how much money everyone else should/shouldn't have.
shareWaiting for you to complete that sentence.
shareI am pretty sure he's saying you are jealous. Fact is, most people have to work hard to get money. Some are able to get lots of money through fame and popularity like Jerry Seinfeld. But most of us work 40 hours or more at a regular job to get money. Maybe instead of being upset that someone makes tons of money, you should just get a good job yourself and live your life not dwelling on what other people have.
shareWow. You really took my original post seriously so that you felt compelled to write out that little sermonette.
shareThey should buy us all a meal at Mendy's, but I'm not that hungry so I think I'll just have soup.
shareHe'd have to die then. As it stands now, both he and Larry David earn between $40 - $60 MILLION each/year from Seinfeld residuals from global syndication rights.
shareThat's GOLD Jerry.
