Age difference "inappropriate"

She says (now) the age difference between her and Sam Neil (s.p.?) in Jurassic Park was "inappropriate."

Absolute nonsense. Sometimes younger women are more mature than their male peers and need a partner with the wisdom an older man has accrued. These relationships are as old as humanity and uptight idiots today need to get over it.

I never thought they were that far apart in age.

Yeah she was only a mid-20's fully grown adult...

Her characters age wasn't revealed. She looked like a woman in her late 30s.

Actors can play all sorts of ages.

In real life that age gap would be inappropriate.

Men who partner with a woman young enough to be their offspring disgusts me. That's why Johnny Depp is revolting. Get a girl your own age Budd.

While I don’t agree that it was inappropriate, why is everyone piling up on Dern? Sam Neill was the one who made the comment first and Dern just backed it up.

In any case, it’s just an opinion, nothing to soil yourself over. The fact that they’re both back for another round of Dino adventures suggests it’s not the huge deal to them that everyone is making out it is.

But never let a “burn the witch!” opportunity pass by, I guess.

No they aren’t. This is just something that gets repeated because girls mature faster than boys physically during puberty, but that is where it ends. 20 year old women are not closer to 40 year old men, than men their age, not even close. Also men do not value “maturity” in a partner, if they did women would gain value as they get older, but they don’t. Their value goes down.

The reason why you see younger women paired with older men so often isis because men value women for their looks, which are typically at their peak in the 20s. While women value men based on what they can provide, and man comes in to his full earning potential at 35+.
