He said because he has a huge fanbase of black women who’d never forgive him.
Now, imagine if a white actor said that about black actresses.
The social piranhas would tear him apart.
It's true, though. Black women hate seeing their men with white women. Walk down any big city street in Europe or North America and every other mixed race couple you see will be a black or brown man with a white woman (invariably with blonde or red hair).
I have no doubts that Denzel's had secret affairs with white actresses offscreen. They all do.
The look and the hand touch at the end of Bone Collector was, for me, more moving than a kiss.
But they didn’t have a romantic relationship.
Only one of respect.
They did in the epilogue in my head. ;D

I am not the OP and I do not find that remark racist. When Jim Caviezel did not want to kiss Jennifer Lopez in Angel Eyes out of respect for his wife and religion, again, not an issue to me. Perhaps your response was meant for another poster.
