When did he go bald?

Around when would you say did he go bald/start needing a wig? His hair in Look Who's Talking seems like his real hair but I'm no expert.

He started to noticeably bald in the early 90's. He still wore his real hair for the most part in movies until the late 90's, but with a little bit of help.

If you watch something like Broken Arrow for example, with the harsh lighting you can tell that they painted his hairline on his scalp, the hair that's left is pretty sparse and not that thick.

In Pulp Fiction that long hair was mostly either hair extensions or a weave.

He still could get away with putting a bunch of concealers in his hair in public until a few years ago, but he had lost so much hair by that point that it literally looked like his head was painted, which in essence it was.

For many years whenever you saw him in short hair it was his own but "painted on" and whenever you saw him with long hair it was a toupee. But recently even the short hair is a piece, and I mean the entire thing, the top, sides, back, everything is one hairpiece. William Shatner wears a similar one, but I must say his is much better. With John you can see the lace clearly, it's not fooling anyone.

It's pretty bizarre cnsidering that he seemingly has no problems going out and about without his piece and even photographed with fans without it, and he has done many roles with his natural hair like Taking of Pelham and Savages, but he still wears the bad piece to every red carpet event and interview.

He went bald in 2010, in From Paris with Love.

Right after "Stayin Alive" that sequel to Saturday Night Fever came out. The script was so bad that it made his hair fall out.

reply

In BLOW OUT(1982) his hair is greasy and that's sign of going bald.
In STAYIN ALIVE (1983)His hair is super blown out by hair dryer and is hard to see any bald spots.
Now in THE EXPERTS (1989) You can see bald spots and must explain why his hair is dyed jet black.

its crazy to think JT lost his hair when in Grease/SNF he had hair like Elvis! (who had that crazy thick full head of awesome hair his whole life)..Granted he was only early 20s but still.. if a guy has hair like he did then hes usually safe for life.

Staying Alive in 83 he had awesome hair blown hair like Stallone at the time (another guy with hair issues - think hes had a mega hair transplant as he was probably only balding at the front so could get a load of thick hair from the back.. but hes gone abit overboard with it)..the talking baby movies he seemed to be ok.. Pulp Fiction 94 he had great hair but I guess it was mainly weave/extensions boosting his own hair and then the other 90s movies that followed where it looked like he had good hair Broken Arrow, FaceOff etc it was like concealers/fibres/partial hair pieces etc and obviously he wore a full wig in the 00s maybe starting with Swordfish until recently when he went full From Paris with Love.. FaceOff was kind of ironic/funny as they even made a joke in the movie about something like Travolta character would have to have his hairline receded to be Cage who had a caesar style cut in the film but as we saw in The Rock was losing his pretty bad (and yet Cage now has managed to maintain/increase his hair somehow - no doubt transplants etc)

but always been shocked about how JT went the way of Bruce Willis when like I said he was like an Elvis (i dont think i even realised he had lost his hair until the 2010s as hed always been good at disguising it until he started wearing those blatant flowing wigs and 'lego' hair pieces and was photographed now and then without anything)

Elvis was premature grey, like his dad. He dyed his hair

In face off he looked like he wore a wig

Hes been wearing a piece for years. He had his head shaved for Pelham 123 and that was his real thinning hair. He finally has owned it though...

reply

He must envy fellow scientologist Tom Cruise.

reply

Haha...Yeah...Cruise has a good head of hair yet. Though.i notice he has stopped growing it longer. He used to switch back and forth. Now it's been short and kinda dry looking...I think his hair is aging like his skin now....

reply

He was bald in From Paris with Love and I think he looked super bad ass he has a majestic head should've gone bald in real life then...Oh boy ...I want a From Paris with Love sequel so much...
