Are there any other actors or filmmakers who have been banned from attending the Oscars?

The only person who I can immediately think of is Richard Gere because the Academy was not comfortable with him going off script and using his time as a presenter to denounce the Chinese government in 1993:

I guess I was asking if they cited a reason for it. I was unaware that he was banned.

It was said that the courts never proclaimed Cosby was innocent, just that his due process rights were violated. Hence the prison sentence was quashed.

If you aren't prosecuted within the legal constraints of the law, you are proclaimed innocent by default. You aren't guilty until proven innocent.

Not saying you are wrong but in the eyes of the academy that's a technicality and doesn't mean he's not actually guilty of the charges. As such they banned him and since that isn't a legal thing (more a moral stance) there's nothing he could do about it.

I get that, and agree with what your saying. It isn't a legal issue, but someday someone is going to be straight up wrongfully accused over something(I don't think that's the case with Cosby) and it seems crazy that they get a permanent ban due to a mistake.

She got arrested for slapping a security guard at the official after party that she wasn't invited to.

Either Smith wasn't thinking at all --possible-- or he planned this if Rock said something he considered untoward. Thinking he could get away with either scenario shows how off his thought process is.
