My uncle-in-law Tio Pete died of COVID. I really liked that guy. He was kind of like a bandido from an old Western movie come to life. I liked to think of him as my Mexican dad. They had to put him in a home about 3 years ago. Based on his physical condition, he probably could have lived about ten more years except for COVID. But when he died of COVID he was blind and deaf and suffering dementia so bad he had not been able to know his own children or wife for months. Myself, if I was in that position, I think I would prefer going relatively quickly of COVID.

I agree with you on what you said except that there is not really any place I can see that Schwarzenegger can step, if he means to step into power. He was a god-awful governor, and since has shown himself to be dishonest and immoral to his family. He has tried to recover some dignity and credibility by criticizing Trump and the Republicans, but I don't see that any sane informed people have much interest in seeing him in any kind of political power position. I sure don't. I do think it is a good thing that he is using what he has - his celebrity to lobby pro-vaccine, so I appreciate that, and his video with patriotic upwelling music that was anti-insurgency was sappy but appreciated.
