I don't think she'll be driving drunk and almost killing someone anymore. Those days are probably over for her.
shareThat's what happens when you drive crazy fast drunk into a house while almost hitting someone along the way but making sure to take everything the house she crashed into away.
shareits called one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel
shareThey may have put her to sleep so she can handle the intubation to give her time for her throat to heal. You breath in hot air from the fire and it will cause burns to your throat and lungs. Her conscious she will fight the tube inside. It will take awhile as it is like she has a bad sunburn inside.
shareIt's not just the throat that gets damaged from being in fires, it's the lungs themselves. I've heard she was trapped in that car for an hour after the crash, during which the car started to burn, and that doesn't just mean too-hot air and smoke getting into the lungs, but chemicals from the burning car, seats, oil, gas, radiator fluid, etc. So she's not just reportedly badly burned, but undoubtedly has both heat damage to her respiratory system, plus damage from toxic inhalants.
So they've probably put her in an induced coma, and that's not a bad sign. Modern ICUs are trying to use less and less sedation on their ventilator patients, and heavy sedation or paralytics are only used for people whose lungs are terribly damaged. It's a last-ditch life-saving measure.
Everyone has a different gag reflex to intubation. Plus she maybe fighting the sobriety things also.Lets give it this week to find her true condition.
shareDoesn't sound like they induced the coma. It sounds a lot like what used to happen to race car drivers that were in fiery wrecks where they weren't extracted fast enough. Some of them would not even appear too badly burned because of the fire retardant suits but would end up dead a few days later because of all the damage to their lungs from the hot air and chemical burns to the lungs. Even if they could keep them breathing on a ventilator the reality was that the lung tissue was so fucked up that it wasn't capable of providing the body with enough oxygen and the organs would start shutting down in response. I would be shocked if she lives given how long she was sitting in that fire.
shareShe was taken out of the car before it got totally burned. They didn't worry about the car and house after the rescue. The other firetrucks coming in put the fire out.Lets give this a week because really the press always speculates on the extreme side to sell stories. She may be a person you try, and control and induced coma is the best way to treat her at this time with what little staff the hospital can commit to her.Drowning is like that also with water in the lungs. It can make you die also later after recovery from the water.
shareI hate to relate a fictional TV story to real-life, but this is what happened to Jack on This is Us. He had inhaled a lot of smoke, but seemed OK, then went into cardiac arrest during recovery.
shareI was thinking of a driver in the 70's called Swede Savage that was in a fire ball at the Indianapolis 500. He was even able to talk to rescue worker right after the wreck supposedly even joking with them... but he was dead about month later and according to the family he was on extremely high levels of oxygen because his lungs were so royally fucked up.
Problem is that a lot of damage to your lungs from heat or chemicals doesn't show up instantly it takes time for the lung tissue to show the damage and even longer until the scar tissue appears which can cause even greater issues.

Thank GOD she didn't kill anyone like that other lady. Six people dead, including infant and unborn baby.
share?
shareIt was some crazy ICU nurse in LA that drove her Mercedes 100mph through an intersection where she t-boned another car which burst into flames killing everyone in the that car while she then pretty much walks away no worse for it. Surprised you haven't seen the video of it, thought it happens so fast you have a hard time telling what is going on.
sharePeople that do that shit should get the death penalty I don't care if they were drunk or not.
share
When did that happen? Honestly, so much of this happens too often that they get forgotten. One I'll never forget was the limo carrying a wedding party that was broadsided by a drunk driver in NYC. Killed four bridesmaids and critically injured the bride.
She was going to give up a taxi for me once. Melbourne.
