What the fuck did anyone see in her?

She was in There’s Something About Mary, where the temporarily funny Ben Stiller came in her hair and got his dick stick in his trousers fly, neither of which Diaz really had anything with which to do with Diaz.

She was in The Mask, back when Jim Carry was believed to be funny. All she did was stand there.

She was in the first Charlie’s Angels movie, where she showed off her ass and told a UPS driver that he could feel free to leave things in her box. She was also a white chick selected to dance onstage on Soul Train, a TV show almost no one on this site remembers.

Then she smoked and partied. I just rewatched Knight and Day. She was essentially a blowup doll in that. Tom Cruise probably wished he could be a ventriloquist dubbing her lines.

Three facial expressions: cute, cuter, frightened.

Not really an impressive resume, is it?

she was on Top Gear once as the star in the reasonably priced car

I get the impression from that, that she sometimes did...favours for producers

I agree, my fellow Arian - don't dislike her, but never got the hype.

There are others who've done the 'hot blonde' thing better (at their peak), like Diane Kruger, Kelly Preston, Michelle Pfeiffer, Maggie Grace, Denise Richards and Rebecca Romijn, to name some off the top of my head, and many of whom are also better actresses.

I like her, but the smoking is starting to catch up.

She was beautiful enough at the start of her career, but frankly, she did not age well, in my opinion. She's a good actress, if she's playing girlfriends or feminine action girls. But honestly, I got tired of her after Charlie's Angels. Chopping her hair off at the time didn't help either.

I think part of the reason she kept getting roles when her looks started to go, was because she still had friends in the industry, and some studios felt they could still get money from a movie with her in it. I noticed she hasn't done much in the past few years, though her expiration date actually hit much sooner than her film career did.

Her good films: She's The One, There's Something About Mary, Very Bad Things, Knight and Day, The Last Supper, Any Given Sunday

The rest? average to crap. Last movie I watched with her was Bad Teacher where she played a very unlikable character.

She was stunningly beautiful in "The Mask" and a decent enough actress but I've never thought of her as a box office draw.
