Favorite Performance (Besides Obi-Wan)?

For me, it's Col. Nicholson from The Bridge on the River Kwai.

My fav actor of all time , I adore watching him, for me Professor Marcus in the Lady Killers

reply

Seconded! Ladykillers was such a wonderful performance! He managed to be both mannered and menacing, a strange, quirky, funny character who was also evil and terrifying.

That’s like picking your favorite star in the sky

Col. Nicholson from The Bridge on the River Kwai

I'd have to go with that as well.
My blood pressure still goes up when I think of that crazy Colonel.

I really have a soft spot for Bensonmum in Murder by Death (1976) because it was the my first exposure to him in a comedic role as I had only seen him in Star Wars and Dr Zhivago at that point.

The Bridge on the River Kwai and The Lady Killers for me.

The deliciously wicked "Kind Hearts and Coronets", of course!

Guiness played five or six different roles, a whole family of aristocrats. Who happened to be in someone,'s way.

reply

As the nine members of the D'Ascoyne family in Kind Hearts and Coronets. His Scottish major in Tunes of Glory is another favourite.

...but I can watch Guinness in anything. One of the greatest of all screen actors.

George Smiley in the BBC adaptations of John Le Carre novels.
