Suggest Reasonable New Year Resolutions

I challenge you to suggest just one reasonable new years resolution that you and others could achieve.

I'll start:

Visit relatives at times other than special occasions like Christmas or sad events like hospital stays or funerals.

At the end of the year, we can see how we did.

I’ve tried to call my dad.
He don’t pick up or ever call back.
He’s probably dead. What are you gonna do?!

I’m all about my wife and kids.
Circle the wagons!!!

Fuck it.

reply

I never knew my father, so I 100% get this. It’s all about the wife and kids.

reply

I’m sorry, I know some of your story and it’s hurtful Andy. But the hurdles you made it past turned you into a champion.

I heard a guy interviewed on the radio about his estranged brother, he said he reached out and it was a good, healing experience.

I tried, I honestly did.
But some people are just dead, even if they are still walking around.

reply

This is why I don’t regret the past - I’m very happy where I ended up.

reply

That's deep, bro.

reply

It’s the family YOU create that’s most important, not the one you’re born into.

I resolve to post fun stuff on Moviechat with Parkerbot and the other awesome people here.

Looking forward to it 👍

If you are an addict, get sober.

There is help out there.

The movie Clean and Sober from 1988 with Michael Keaton is an excellent movie about addiction and if you haven't seen it, I recommend you track it down and give it a watch.

To not hate myself everyday.

reply

This makes me so sad to read, Sis. I'm very hard on myself, too, though. We're our own worst critics. Hugs to you.

reply

Don’t be so hard on yourself - there’s nothing to hate.

reply

How do you know?

reply

I have had the pleasure of talking to sslssg outside of MC and she strikes me as a lovely lady that has had to cope with a great deal of adversity.

reply

TOTALLY AGREE....A SPECTACULAR PERSON WHO IS ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND WELL SPOKEN.

reply

HEY BENNY...HAVEN'T CHOPPED IT UP WITH YOU IN AWHILE.....HOW ARE YOU?🙂

reply

Absolutely! Where is that self loathing coming from? She has consistently been one of our best posters here.

reply

I’ve had the pleasure to speak to her on Zoom and she is a lovely lady.

reply

After one of those early broadcasts I commented that she sounded every bit as pleasant as she's always come across through the written word.

Well if you want, we can all chip in and hate you on the days that you're too tired to do it yourself.

Tomorrow, take it easy and know that your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.
