After watching a few older movies on YouTube and then popping over here, I was wondering how many use the website to watch movies? Many older and obscure ones are there and oftentimes without commercials but I don't see it mentioned often as a good platform for programs.

I found that it's the best place for old obscure movies that you can't find on torrents.

In fact, I can be more specific: 104 times since I joined Letterboxd four years ago, making it my sixth most used streaming platform.
As you say, it's good for older and more obscure films for which no-one cares about copyright any more. Also Mosfilm has its own channel on which it has made sizeable chunks of its back catalogue available.
During the lockdowns, I was a bit addicted to all the tv movies from the 70s & 80s on there. I've never heard of most of them, but they were so good! A lot were better than cinema releases.
The Stepford Wives is one that sticks in my mind, and that ghosty one 🤔... The Haunting? That one where the mum hears the ghost using her mother's voice calling her "Janet".
I do, all the time. I have a particular interest in older films from New Zealand and Australia and they are impossible to find on any other streaming service. The quality is hit and miss but I’ve discovered some true gems on YouTube.

As with other users, it's been in cases where I'm looking to watch an obscure movie and can't track it down. A last resort.
I do. I download classics from there quite often.
