Anyone Sick of People Saying Everything is "Subjective"?
They're not smart, even at 12.. Say an opinion and some bitch has to reply like a robot with "_____ is subjective"

shareTHIS POST IS VERY SUBJECTIVE.🤔
shareYeah? Well, y'know, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

One related thing I really dislike is when someone gets ratty and tells you that you're 'stating your opinion as fact'. As if instead of saying 'This movie sucks' it's more courteous to say 'In my opinion, this movie sucks' or 'I think this movie sucks', or 'Well, it's all subjective but I think in my humble opinion if you'll be so kind, sir, begging your pardon but this movie sucks.'
It's obvious it's an opinion. It doesn't need pointing out. You're not 'stating your opinion as fact' you're just crediting the other person with the basic adult intelligence to be able to distinguish between a fact and an opinion without being spoon-fed like a baby.

Agree with everything you said, but...
A person who, especially habitually, takes a very assertive contentious attitude on a matter which might be reasonably viewed another way, maybe, deserves to be hit with the dude's maxim, taking them down a peg, or somesuch. :)
I've been called pompous & arrogant on more than one occasion. But that's just a lot of people's (shared) opinion (of me).
Not to mention, of course, 'everything' is definitely NOT subjective. The point of science is to render reliable/testable/repeatable notions about things which, in the process, become established as facts. Or events clearly in view, in the past or present. Or overwhelming patterns giving rise to strong inferences. Etc.
Is this an opinion or a fact - poverty breeds crime ?
I'm definitely guilty of saying this on IMDb and here, at least, and will try to remember it rubs you the wrong way.
shareIf I were you, I wouldn't worry about people who say things are subjective.
⬆ That's how you use subjective in the subjunctive.
Saying, “Anyone Sick of People Saying Everything is "Subjective"?” is subjective.
shareIt's the "God is Dead" aftermath. But there can be objective truth without god.
shareIm a big Jesus fan, he’s my homie but his Pop came off as completely nasty and vengeful in The First Testament.
GOD of the universe, creator of everything and you are worshipped by billions but you still have to push everyone around..?
Bullshit.
Seems like insecurity to me.
I do love Jesus though, I get him.
I like Jesus too. He helped me through some hard times back in the day. Unfortunately I'm an atheist now.
But I still don't believe in the trinity though. Yahweh the Jew and Jesus the Christ are two completely different people.
Yup. Not a fan of ‘God’ but Jesus was onto something.
I love him.
People seek knowledge in search of wisdom. Generalizing your given example, those who are very knowledgeable but lack life experience tend to lean towards having a more existential mindset (e.g. "It is what you make of it"). Existentialism is more about the curiosity of all things rather than a rejection of them.

Yes. Scientifically we know the Earth is NOT flat and this wet rock orbiting through the Solar System is older than 5,000 years. WTH is wrong with people?
Sheesh, we have brilliant scientists.
If I get stabbed in a mugging in
the city will I tell the Doctor, ‘No, NO, this was merely a subjective stabbing?’ Not objective at all LOL, some crackhead stabbed me.
My lungs and heart are only in a separate pan because it’s totally
subjective.
Can we all grow up for fuck’s sake?
People are turning into fake intellectual morons.
