Just share a pretty long comment with sslssg that offers a rational explanation that I truly love which is this one:

I don't think the idea was for the audience to lose respect for Sarah. I think it was representative of how truly far she had slipped from sanity at that point. She was operating on pure animalistic instincts / thought processes / rage in those moments. I didn't lose respect for her. I felt even sorrier for her because once she crossed that line (disabling Juno), there was no coming back. She was traumatized already but that act would haunt her and she would never forgive herself.

I think what Neil Marshall was also trying to do is illustrate that there were no clear heroes or villains. I appreciated that because life is like that. There is good and bad in everyone. Juno did some bad things but Sarah fell from grace too. I feel like Sarah's wrongdoing was a little more understandable though. Her bad deeds were done in an irrational state of mind, driven by complete and utter despair, whereas most of Juno's mistakes were made in a state of clarity.

Also keep in mind that Juno lied about leaving Beth behind. And Beth never made it clear to Sarah that she was stabbed on accident. So that made it look deliberate. Why wouldn't Sarah suspect that Juno would do the same to her? Especially while operating purely on survival instincts and paranoia? You could argue Sarah could have been up front with Juno and gotten the truth out of her...but Sarah was pissed off at her for many reasons by that point and didn't care to talk things out anymore. Additionally, Beth shows Sarah the necklace - proof of the affair - making Juno look even MORE suspect. Who is to say Sarah wouldn't think that Juno didn't want the truth to get out, and therefore left Beth to die?

Sarah had any number of reasons to do what she did. Not that it makes it right. Juno didn't deserve that. But the point is - Sarah was insane at that point and can't be held fully accountable.

It was a tragic misunderstanding that could have been prevented had Juno not kept secrets in the first place.

Here’s another comment I like but can’t fully agree with:

Juno didn't lie. She was messed up about it and didn't want to talk about it. Beth was dead or dying and couldn't be saved. Who would it have helped for Juno to tell it accurately? What happened was messed up. It messed with Juno real bad. Like one of those things you wouldn't want to talk about out loud for twenty years. More than lying to Sarah, she was lying to herself, trying not to register in her mind what had happened. Juno spent the whole movie saving everybody. They all would have been toast the first few minutes, without Juno. Sarah was evil. Beth was evil. Between Sarah's and Beth's evil, Juno got shafted. Sarah was a murderer and Beth was her accomplice. Beth lied to Sarah, probably out of vindictiveness. It upset me that the survival of the murderess of the movie was presented as the cliche triumphant finale. It upset me at the world that evil could be perceived as good. The only reason I watched the sequel was in the hope of seeing the evil backstabbing murderess Sarah die and justice would finally be served, and karma would be back in balance.

Yeah, I don't really agree with this last comment here. I think you know what I think about the movie. And I think it's about complex relationships, and trauma. I don't see it as a story of anybody being good and evil at all. Not even the crawlers.
