If America awarded titles who deserves to be a Sir or Lady?

I get jealous when people refer to him as Sir Michael Caine. I wish Americans would come up with a prestigious title for certain deserving people, any suggestions?

We don't have titles (other than made up ones like 'The Sultan of Swat') but we do have awards and decorations. The two highest civilian awards are the Presidential Medal of Freedom and The Congressional Gold Medal. But one of the things that makes America America is that we don't have titles. Alexander Hamilton wrote, "Nothing need be said to illustrate the importance of the prohibition of titles of nobility. This may truly be denominated the corner-stone of republican government; for so long as they are excluded, there can never be serious danger that the government will be any other than that of the people."

If we did have 'Sir' and 'Dame' (and yes, I know that those are not titles of nobility) there are certainly many worthy candidates.
