The wildest politicians in the Western world. Some of them take off their underwear in a filmed training session to disarm homophobic terrorists. Others endorse giving 3-year-old firearms on camera.

Cinema
I got that jazz, cinema, marketing piece from some dude in a documentary. I don't remember where. I suppose baseball doesn't count because it's a derivative of cricket?
No. Baseball counts. But cinema doesn't. Louis Le Prince was probably the first person to shoot a moving picture (although as I said, a lot of people were experimenting with different technologies in that era, so the timeline is a little hazy) and the Lumiere Brothers invented the projected moving image and thereby cinema as we know it.
The USA certainly played an important role in developing cinema -- especially through its commercialisation early on -- but it's a French invention.
Rock 'n' Roll
shareMy first thought as well...Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, et.al.
shareIf you haven't already seen it, I really enjoyed "The Girl Can't Help It" with Jayne Mansfield (1956) The main story is garbage, but the bands are really cool. I had never heard of it until this past year.

shareMy mom used to always say that any food you can eat while walking around was created by Americans, the corn dog, ice-cream cone, hamburger... which probably isn't true... but maybe it is true just for the behavior of eating something without sitting down...
shareI hate eating without sitting down
also without a drink
The hamburger was created by a German.
