Have ⛽ prices come down in your area?

They have around here. Regular unleaded gas is as low as $2.69 around here. I understand that they're still ridiculous in California.

reply

Yesterday I paid $3.26 and then right up the road it was $3.19.

I have a fairly new dollar store just a few blocks from home where I can still purchase some good items for $1. I have a popular wholesale liquor store two blocks from home that hasn't raised its beer prices all year. My "attitude of gratitude" from Thanksgiving has still got some great momentum in spite of some bad news on a personal level over the last several days.

reply

I'm sorry to hear you've had bad news lately. No one needs that.

You and I are old fogeys here, GE, seasoned by the speed bumps in life.😁https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnlPtaPxXfc

reply

Yep, and why are there more speed bumps the older you get?? Not fair, but oh well. There's nothing you can do except get over the bumps as best you can.

My mom was a big Sinatra fan. Me, I prefer Dean Martin.

reply

My mom was a big Dino fan 😉. Me, I never much cared for Sinatra either but I like that song and how he delivered it.

reply

I like several of Sinatra's songs, and one of my favorites is this one:

Gotta admit, the guy had a great voice. Another favorite of mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQzdAsjWGPg

There was a bar I frequented in the 90’s that played popular club music of the day, but the last song every night was My Way. Leaving that place at 2am with Frank belting out MY Way was absolutely great. 😀

reply

I can relate to so many of the lyrics in that song but especially to the overall spirit of independence, defiance and of being a nonconformist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjHYzFHZKrM it seems to personify for me.😉

reply

It’s between $3.29-3.69 in my area but the groceries—oh man—grocery prices are through the roof.

Yes, we hit a high of over $4 a gallon this summer but are down 30 cents given where you are.
A bit of a break…

reply

Yes. I noticed today. The station by me was charging about £1.95 last week for diesel - today it's £1.55. (Per litre UK)

He does rip people off though, so maybe he's lost custom and trying to win them back.

reply

What surprises me is when I drive by stations that are a block apart, but one is 30 cents cheaper per gallon than the other one. A few pennies is one thing, but 30 cents?? Crazy.

reply

Yeah. I saw it at $1.31/L 🍁

reply

Apparently you're luckier than ColumboKate.

reply

Gas has always been cheaper here than in the UK. Where I live usually has some of the cheapest gas in Canada, but it's still more expensive than in the US.

reply

The price of petrol in Melbourne today converted to gallons is AUD $6.76 which equals USD $4.60 for basic unleaded.

reply

Yikes! That's high!

reply

Even though Australia produces a significant amount of crude oil the idiots who run this country export the lot after shutting down our refineries. Now we import all of our petrol.

🤦🏻‍♀️
