He comes from a generation of rockers--I would include Little Richard--that is just before my time and I was never attached to. I like Elvis, but even there it is not the same as say, Beatles forward. But I certainly acknowledge his place in music history.

But he was one of the last legends of his era (if he wasn't the last), so RIP.
He may have had so many flaws and problems in his life, but he was a legend and helped shape Rock and Roll music. He was also the last living inductee of the first class of the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
R.I.P. Jerry.
