Call them over now and give them a love and a treat please.
Had our beautiful dog put to sleep today.
Appreciate your furry friends whilst you can π.
(Please spay or neuter them too if you've not already done so. Our girl was never done and this led to an infection in her uterus and put her in kidney failure).
**edit**
Thanks for all the kind support. I just really wanted everyone to give their little pal a bit of extra love today and remember how lucky we are that they share their lives with us π
Losing a pet is tough, sadly, itβs part of the deal.
You give them the best life you can but eventually that terrible day comes. It is pretty rough. Sorry for your loss, it hurts, I know.
My little dog is always near to me, sheβs my best little buddy. Maybe wait a while and eventually go to a rescue pound and get a new dog to save, youβll improve itβs life and yours when you are done mourning your loss.
Iβm sad to hear that, thatβs a big gut punch within a half a year. Maybe try it again, a good pound dog or even a pound cat can be fine company, youβd be saving a life and youβll have a long time pal to cuddle up with.
This silly little girl of mine hardly leaves my side, she was sitting in a cage for two and a half years before I met her, now we spend every evening together.
I've gone to a few different rescues a couple of times over the last couple of years and just couldn't bring myself to bring anyone home. I will. One day. I'm still not ready.
So sorry that you lost them both so closely. Do you think you will ever get another one?
Today is the hardest day, but we've had 12 years of fun and laughs. Hopefully in time that's what we will remember most and today will be a faded memory.
I think I will one day. I had my cat for 16 years and my dog for 15. I can't be sad about that. I'm really sorry for your loss. It's so tough. I do remember the fun and laughs more than the pain.
YOU HAVE MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES...AS SOMEONE WITH DOZENS OF ANIMALS I KNOW HOW DEVASTATING IT IS TO LOSE A PET...CRY IS OUT REMEMBERING THE GOOD TIMES...THAT'S WHAT I DO.πππππ
I canβt speak to spaying the humans but spaying and neutering the pets is a good idea.
Bob Barker was right!
On a side note rabbits are very difficult to spay and neuter. I had about a dozen of them at one point because even the Vet screwed up and only βfixedβ a few of them.
Dogs seem easier to neuter, their dangly bits are hanging outside.
Joey was 12 and had kidney disease. I'm down to one indoor cat that is 2 and an outside feral that we have taken care of since she was a kitten who is 9. You would think after all of these years of care she would let us near her, but I can get about 3 feet away and any closer - off she goes.
We've got a cat, but he's only three years old and should live for several more years.
But we've lost many cats through my lifetime, so I know that feeling too well.
I miss the black lab we had when my son was young. Bogart was a fine dog. My son now has a black lab named Nero. Both dogs have the exact same personality.
