Movies with major stars that most people haven't seen.

Circle of Two....Obsession 1981 This movie was so hated, they had to rename it. I actually thought it was really good. Only 640 votes in IMDB.

The story of the impossible love between a schoolgirl and a sixty-year-old painter. Tatum O'Neal and Richard Burton

Buffalo '66
Christina Ricci, Ben Gazzarra, Anjelica Huston, Mickey Rourke

I always ask people if they've seen "The Outsiders", because that movie created more future stars than any movie I can think of. Except the main character who had the least success!

reply

Well at least I've heard of Buffalo 66, its pretty well known. I'll try to catch it. Circle of Two was so Odd, who thinks a romance with 16 year old Tatum and 55 year old Burton is a good idea. It was so weird, but I couldn't stop watching it. Not necessarily bad, just so out of left field. Who green lit this movie?

reply

I once did a poll on another site, and less than 5% saw it, but everyone who did see it, loved it. I think "Buffalo '66" is the best movie in the last 40 years. Vincent Gallo writes, directs, stars, even does the original music, but he wasn't a star. It's the most unique movie I've ever seen, and it didn't need any CGI, nudity, car chases.

reply

I saw it about a year ago and I’ve watched it about five times now. It’s a 10/10.

:)

reply

Oh, and you forgot to mention Rosanna Arquette among the cast of actors.

reply

oh yeah! "My name is Wendy Balsam" (too)

Pretty amazing how all those actors took little to be in a movie by a guy who never made a movie.. That script is great, but Gazzarra did the same with Cassavetes, instead of taking top dollar, which he could have done.

NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW THE FILM IN WHICH JOHN HEARD ROCKED MY BRAIN...CUTTER'S WAY....THE FUCKING DAD FROM HOME ALONE CHEWED THE SCENERY WHILE JEFF BRIDGES STOOD AROUND LIKE A VANILLA STUMP...INSANITY.

reply

In my movie you get to see 16 year old Tatum topless:)

reply

YOU AND YOUR MOVIE ARE STARTING TO FREAK ME OUT.😐

reply

Believe me I started this movie after reading the plot with, what the fuck, but Tatum does a great job acting a bit older than her age, and that carries the movie.

reply

Foodfight! (2012) has a pretty expansive cast for something that tanked so hard.

reply

MY DAUGHTER USED TO CHECK THAT OUT FROM THE LIBRARY...THEY NEVER GOT ANY MONEY FROM US.

reply

I've seen it. One of the worst movies ever released.

reply

Is "Murder by Death" (1976) popular?
The cast includes: Peter Sellers, Peter Falk, Maggie Smith, David Niven, Alec Guiness, Elsa Lanchester, Eileen Brennan and James Cromwell. None of them are cameos either.

reply

I HAVE THAT ON VHS...KIND OF DRAGS BUT FUN OVERALL.

reply

I like that film. Peter Falk reading 'muscle mags' - just to check for 'suspects' 😂

reply

Good fun. It has over 37,000 votes on imdb so I would consider that fairly well known.

The Man Who Cried (2000) with Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, John Turturro, and Cate Blanchett

reply

WOW...I HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THAT ONE...UNTIL RIGHT NOW...AMAZING.

reply

Check it out:

A Russian Jewish girl (Christina Ricci) is separated from her father in 1927 and escapes to England, where she's rechristened Suzie. She grows up to be a singer in a Parisian theater populated by a glamorous Russian dancer (Cate Blanchett), an egotistical Italian tenor (John Turturro) and a handsome Gypsy horseman (Johnny Depp). When the Nazis invade France, however, Suzie's life is suddenly in danger, and she attempts to flee to the United States, where her father moved years earlier.

reply

NOT NECESSARILY MY GENRE...BUT THAT CAST IS IMPRESSIVE...I WILL KEEP MY EYE OPEN FOR THIS ONE.

reply

I think I have seen that one, but barely remember it.

reply

The Offence (1973) - Sean Connery. Strange movie.

reply

With Ian Bannen? Seen it just once, years ago. Pretty good as I remember.

reply

that's the one. i watched it about a year ago. never heard of it before that. someone mentioned it on here.

reply

That's got me curious to watch it again.

Another one is One Night at McCool’s (2001) with Liv Tyler, Matt Dillon, John Goodman, and Michael Douglas

McCool's bar was hopping that night. Randy (Matt Dillon) worked there, tending bar. Lawyer Carl (Paul Reiser) was there until past closing. Detective Dehling (John Goodman) got there once McCool's became a crime scene. Was it the dead body that tied these men together? Not as tightly as the live wire who was also there that night: the stunning young woman aptly named Jewel (Liv Tyler). A steamy story told from three very different points of view that ultimately become one.

That's one of my all-time favorite movies; one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I can't believe it still hasn't been released on Blu-ray.

I originally saw it when it was in the "new release" section at the video store. It was one of the first movies I rented after getting my first DVD player (which was a DVD-ROM drive for my PC), as well as one of the first movies I ripped to my computer.

I don't get why it isn't a far more popular movie.
