what would make movie theater experience better for you?

what would make movie theater experience better for you?

don't just say: no noisy people, cheaper tickets those are an obvious given....

what ELSE would make it better for you? bring in more audiences? make it better

I was heartbroken when the Alamo Drafthouse left town but wish more theater chains would do more retro programming.

reply

We have one theater here, way across town, with little tables and buzzers. You press a button, and they come to you for food and drink orders. You can get a hamburger and a beer. I wish we had more of these.

reply

I never went to the one we had here, and a friend who's a teetotaler said she had beer spilled on her at this place, but I think the pandemic killed the enterprise.
Part of me wonders how watching a film while tables are being served with wait staff works. It would seem to be disruptive but I suppose when it's a given as part of the whole experience, then you just get past it.

reply

Here's what the Arizona one looks like. I never had any problems there. I'm not a movie purest, so the staff discretely dropping off drinks and food didn't bother me.

Turn the volume down and don't freeze everybody to death with the AC.

reply

okay grandpa... time to get you back to the home...

reply

Wouldn't an old person need the volume turned up?

reply

you are right. time to go back home woman

reply

Carpet under my feet, not concrete.

Allow me to be on my phone.

reply

Why do you need to be on your phone? Or was that sarcasm?

I don't get why people go out to a theater, pay for tickets and overpriced snacks, and then don't bother to watch the movie.

reply

Two chicks at the same time, man.

I bet with enough money you could make that happen

A card that I could purchase in advance that would give me sodas and popcorn at a reduced price - something like 5 sodas and 5 popcorns for 25% off.

reply

That’s a hell of a lot of popcorn and Cola!

reply

LOL - no expiration on the card - to be used for 5 separate visits.

reply

I don’t know if someone mentioned this already but I would love to be able to just ask the movie to be paused so I can go and take breaks.

reply

Seriously, maybe they should bring back the intermission maybe before the last third of the movie. Like 6 minutes h to hit the restroom. Especially if they want to keep making 2.5 to 3 hours movie s

reply

yaa i dont see why not to have even a 5 min intermission. especially in long ass movies.

reply

Might help their food and beverage sales also.

reply

agreed. had to go piss twice in endgame.

The answer to every gripe mentioned in every reply to this thread is

"Watch the movie at home"

reply

No thanks.

#1 I like the movie theater experience
#2 I'm not a homebody - I enjoy getting out of the house

reply

That's exactly what I do. I haven't been to a theater in years. There is no movie that I absolutely must see the minute it is released.
