Burger King or McDonald's? Which is better in your opinion?
McD's has best fries. I think BK has best burgers.
shareMcD's has best fries. I think BK has best burgers.
shareBurger King. But the fries they serve are terrible.
Have you tried the Impossible Burger yet?
I stopped going to Burger King years ago because they have allowed the quality of their food to decline. But I am tempted to order an Impossible Whopper along with an original Whopper so I can compare the taste.
I may do this sometime if the BKs in my area would ever reopen.
Where do you live?
shareThe northern central U.S. That's as specific as I will get because I don't give out personal information online.
There are two Burger Kings in the city where I live. Both have had their lobbies closed since the start of the pandemic. There may be some that are open in other cities but I'm not going to waste time and gas driving around looking for them.
BK all the way.
shareFries:
If fresh out of the fryer, McDonald's.
Otherwise, Burger King. Their fries hold up much better.
Burger:
If I'm in the mood for lettuce and tomato with my burger, Burger King.
Otherwise, McDonald's.
Both are good. It depends on what I'm in the mood for.
shareI totally agree. Plus, it also depends on what "time" the order is made for the best or fresher food. I believe people can request a fresh burger, but I'm not sure how the operations/restaurant culture will react.
But, yes... it all comes down to what "me tummy wants".
just make extra wishes like no cucumber etc. youll get a fresh burger
shareNeither are good. I haven't had McDonald's in about 12 years, and it's been 7 for burger King. So my opinion is they are both crap and one should eat somewhere else.
shareExactly. There is probably a family-run diner in the area that offers better food. These places still exist but most people are too lazy to search for them. Or they are under the impression that they are "too expensive." Wrong. A lot of restaurants offer coupons or have daily specials where you can get a good meal for the same price (or sometimes for even less than) that you would pay at some garbage place. One must be willing to search... but oh, wait a minute, that requires effort. We don't want to exert ourselves now, do we?
The last I heard, MuckDonald's was charging $4.99 for their Quarter Pounder, which is expensive considering the quality of their food. And this is considered a good value?
My city prides itself on local cuisine. Don't get me wrong, Burger King and McD's are still here, but they certainly have competition.
It's kind of funny that where I lived had it's own Burger King chain. They were Drive-Ins, and eventually they sold out to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Then when US Burger King came onto the picture they were able to keep the name where I live, so Burger King couldn't open any franchises here. Then, with McD's opening places and competition making things more difficult and KFC being owned by Pepsi, the partnership fizzled, there was a bunch of legal stuff and most of the remaining Burger Kings became Burger Barons, but there were still a couple of who had the name. It wasn't until 1995 that the US Burger King was able to open here.
Sorry for the info but I love useless trivia, and Burger Barons are still waaaaay better than either Burger King or McD's.
No problem; I found the history interesting. You are lucky that the place has maintained its quality.
I had never heard of Burger Barons so I did a search and I see you live in Canada. So I have a question concerning Tim Hortons:
Is is true that their doughnuts are no longer fresh and their coffee is watered down? I have read such comments from Canadian posters on various forums. If yes, did this happen sometime around 2014? I may know the reason: that was the same year that the U.S. Burger King purchased Tim Hortons. It was around this same time that BK's downturn seemed to accelerate, although the degradation of their food had its beginnings in the late 1990s.
Co-incidence?
but oh, wait a minute, that requires effort. We don't want to exert ourselves now, do we?
Hungry Jacks which is what Burger King is branded in Australia. Way better than Maccas.
Except for fries.
BK's burgers don't send one running for the crapper, ten minutes after eating them. Dunno if this makes them "better" than Mickey D's, but they definitely bring about less pain
sharePersonally, I've never had that problem, although I am proud to say I "boycotted" McD's for 20 years.
shareCollege days it was McDonald's for the simple fact there wasn't any Burger Kings around. Burger King by me must be the slowest in the country. Plus the workers just slap everything together with too much mayo. A Culver's opened last year right next to a Burger King and across from McDonalds. Burger King is now a ghost town. When we go to Culver's the last 3 times not one car was in their lot and nobody in drive thru. Culver's is just better meat plus the kids that work there are great, always being friendly and smiling.
shareThat's good to hear, although we don't have a Culver's around here. My comment here was mostly to say, despite my many forays in fast food land, I haven't experienced gastro-intestinal difficulties from it. Didn't seem fair to leave the impression that all McD's will send you to the bathroom, despite one person's testimonial.
But thanks for the reply. I agree about the mayo, now that you mention it.
