I'd rather be stabbed in the front by an enemy rather than stabbed in the back by a "friend".
Yep.
shareYep.
shareWould you rather be stabbed in the back by an enemy than stabbed in the front by a friend?
shareSome people make that their primary philosophy of life. They can't deal with the ambiguity of relationships, and of knowing that your friends don't agree with you on everything, and suspecting that there's a dealbreaker around somewhere that will turn that friend into enemies. Such people go through life being angry assholes and driving everyone away.
Anger simplifies everything, it makes you feel that every argument is simple and that you're always in the right, and that nothing is complex, ambiguous, or takes effort to understand, and as such the anger-based lifestyle is hugely appealing to dumbasses.
And that tells you everything you need to know about the American political situation, except that there are evil people on all sides of the political spectrum trying to whip the populace into a state of uncritical anger. Angry people are SO easy to manipulate.
A stab in the back is always worse than a stab in the front... whether it's by a friend, an enemy, or some mythical creature.
