Great Dramas w/ Homeless Protagonist?

There doesn't seem to be many of them, probably because of the lack of commercial appeal, so there might extra pressure to make it great in an artistic way.

Sult/Svält (1966, Henning Carlsen) based on the novel by Knut Hamsun is the first one that comes to mind. Although it's not in my Top 10 or 20 list, I seem to recommend this to people, because it's fascinating, centered around this man who is intriguing, artistic (writer), but who is destitute. I don't wanna put any spoilers out there, but here's the IMDB link

Macon Blair is a pretty solid character actor

I just looked up Blairs filmography and he's in multiple movies I've seen before, yet I never recognized him from Blue Ruin.

Did you notice Buzz from Home Alone was in the film as well haha?

reply

And Jan from The Brady Bunch.

Wow. Definitely didn't notice that lol.

A Street Cat Named Bob.

God Bless the Child (1988). Don't let the fact that this was made for television fool you. One of the most depressing films I've ever seen.

Not to quibble, but the two guys in "Midnight Cowboy" had a place to stay, although not a very nice apartment... Great movie, though

I've never owned property but that's alarming, mean guard dogs would probably deter most from that
