Movies You Turned Off Within 5 Minutes?
"Natural Born Killers"
I'm sure there's a few more I'll think of later.

Very few, I can stand a bit of garbage. They needed to be really rotten for 5 minutes or less.
Cats (2019)
Baise-moi (2000)
The Golden Nazi Vampire of Absam (2008)
Reis (2017)
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1995)
Lawnmower Man 2 (1996)
Epic Movie (2007)
Piranha 3DD (2012)
Epic Movie is the only one of those I saw, but it was so bad it killed of that franchise
share> Cats (2019)
I should have followed your example. I watched it for a half hour until it became absolutely intolerable.
Inherent Vice
Joaquin is usually so good and a noir detective story is usually very appealing but this just comes right out of the gate a snoozer
Can any Regs offer an opinion on this one?
I think I didn't finish that movie either. But I definitely stayed for more than 5 minutes.
shareI didn't take the 5 minute thing too strictly
I might have spent 15 minutes on this one, it just didn't seem to go anywhere and the characters were bores
ITS THE BIG LEBOWSKI...ONLY FUELED BY COKE INSTEAD OF WEED...THAT SAID LEBOWSKI IS AMZING AND VICE IS A MESS.
shareYeah, I like detective stories about incompetent, funny idiots like The Nice Guys or The Long Goodbye too
YOU JUST NAMED TWO OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE FLICKS.π
shareI think the last GREAT movie was "There Will Be Blood", but since then, I don't think PTA has done anything good.
I went into "Inherent Vice" thinking he'd make another Altman inspired movie (Nashville influenced Magnolia; McCabe & Mrs. Miller inspired There Will Be Blood) entitled "The Long Goodbye" (which was better on the second viewing), but I did not like "Inherent Vice" one bit. It's muddled with no purpose. I was about to turn it off, so I thought I'd smoke a joint to see if it would improve. It didn't, I turned it off, and have no plans to check this out ever again.
i love inherent vice. i've never been so entertained while having no idea what was going on.
but i'm a bit of an oddball, in that there will be blood is my least favourite pta, while inherent vice & phantom thread are two of my favourites, probably.
> Natural Born Killers
Same here. A friend and I went and saw it in the theater. Within the first few minutes we had both decided that it was sick shit and we left. Maybe it got better but I've never given it a second look.
Damn, I was at home, but rented other movies.
I don't like oliver stone even enough to capitalize his name.
> I don't like oliver stone even enough to capitalize his name.
I think he's a very talented filmmaker, but also essentially a liar. The only movie of his that I've seen which I can really endorse is Platoon, although it had some moments that made me roll my eyes. Born On The Fourth Of July has some glaring misrepresentation of real events, and also it should be noted that the real Ron Kovic is a whacko. Nixon was a hit job, character assassination. JFK was a pile of horseshit from start to finish. The problem is that Stone is talented at making a good, dramatic, gripping movie, and so many believe his crap to be true.
Not capitalizing his name is a good idea, but I fear some might read a hidden compliment, like you're comparing him to e. e. cummings.
Most junk I don't watch at all. You mean films that had me fooled until I found out what crap they were? Sometimes when I channel surf.
