I miss the original Atari.

reply

Me too . I was so happy to play joust

reply

I second both of these. I didn't get my hands on a lot of the good stuff that Atari was doing in their PC line but I liked what I'd seen. I owned a number of Commodores and Amigas over the years. Fantastic machines.

Only Canadians will know what this is, but Zellers. That place was expensive as shit, but I hung out there all the time.

reply

I'm not even Canadian and I'm a millennial and I know what Zellers, but I've never been in one or seen one before.

A&B Sound - This one really hurt
Saan stores
Sam the Record Man
Consumers Distributing
Eaton's

and Future Shop a little bit.

reply

oof, a&b opened a big, fancy store in the downtown here and promptly closed about 4 months later when they went bankrupt. i thought that was a great shop.

saan stores were definitely a big part of my childhood.

reply

I can't tell you how many times when I'm looking for a specific product and I check a bunch of stores and Future Shop pops into my head. I liked it better than Best Buy.

reply

Me too

reply

Really ? I didn’t think it was too bad . Got a hair cut and a meal before I shopped

reply

I used to make fun of their "because the lowest price is the law" slogan. It was more expensive than similar stores.

reply

It was the law and they broke it

reply

Eaton’s too. I loved their Boxing Day Sales. Might as well mention The Bay, too. Although they’re still around, I was shocked last year to find that they’re just like a Kohl’s in the US these days.
