PHYSICAL MEDIA WISE...HOW MANY DO YOU HAVE?

IM CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAS A RIDICULOUS COLLECTION LIKE MYSELF...RIGHT AROUND 20,000 BETWEEN VHS,DVD,BLU RAY.

I don’t know how many I have but I only collect VHS and DVD. I never got into Blu-ray.

I HAVENT HAD A SINGLE DVD SKIP SINCE I STARTED USING A BLU RAY PLAYER...EVEN IF YOU STICK WITH THE DVD FORMAT...THE BLU RAY PLAYER IS BETTER FOR THAT.

YUP..PLAYS THEM AT A MUCH HIGHER SPEED...MAKES 99% OF SCRATCHES HARMLESS,PLUS ENHANCED PIC AND SOUND,AND ALL THE WIFI BLU RAY GOODIES LIKE YOUTUBE AND NETFLIX AND THE SUCH...ID SAY I STILL BUY 50 TO 60 % ON DVD BUT ALL MY DVD PLAYERS ARE IN A STACK COLLECTING DUST.

Two documentaries about David Beckham and Eric Cantona, a 12-disc boxset of Taiwanese children tv show (like Barney but a tiger and speaks mandarin,) a Shaolin Soccer (2001) movie dvd, a live concert dvd of Jamie Cullum and another one from Diana Krall. So six it is.

Not as many as I used to. Gave away most of my DVDs. A lot of them are at my parents' cabin.

Some favorites I got Blu Ray versions of. I recently got a 4k TV and the 4k version of Alien for example. Most of them I didn't replace, though.

Once in a while I'll buy a movie if the price is low, or if it's something that's kind of rare and rental places like Netflix DVD don't have it. Very few newer movies in my collection. Right now I'd say I have maybe 60 total.

130 DVDs/Blu-rays (this amount counts The Lord of the Rings as three films)
plus two TV series in boxed sets - the complete Freaks and Geeks and The World at War (1970s BBC documentary narrated by Laurence Olivier)

A big percentage of the above was purchased during the Coronavirus lockdown.

I HAVE VIEWED EVERY FILM IN MY COLLECTION,PLUS THOUSANDS MORE THAT IVE RENTED OR VIEWED BUT DONT OWN...NO DOUBLES..IF I GET THE DVD OF A MOVIE,THE VHS GOES..IF I GET THE BLU RAY,THE DVD GOES...ONE OF EACH.

I think I probably have 25-30 movies on DVD. And a handful on VHS that I never got on DVD.
