Cumin only works when put in Mexican food, and even then, you have to be highly selective. It works best in flavoring meats, sauces, and sometimes bean paste. Otherwise, it has no place outside of Latin American cuisine.
However, nobody told that to the cooks who work for Princess Cruises. Apparently they employ Latin American cooks who put Cumin in everything except desserts and the salad bar. My family took a cruise back in January of 2019 and a lot of the food was unusually spicy. I had other complaints about the lunch/dinner buffet, considering a lot of it was greasy, fried, or spicy. It's no wonder people gain weight on cruises, it's the food! My parents figured out those dumbass cooks like to put Cumin in nearly everything, apparently having no clue that it should only be used in Mexican cuisine and nothing else!
I did enjoy the cruise, it's just....did they really have to cut corners with the cooks?
