Favorite cereals...

What were your favorite cereals as a kid and now as an adult? My favorite cereals when I was a kid were Apple Jacks and Alpha Bits. As an adult, I love Kelloggs Raisin Bran and Vanilla Chex cereal.

reply

Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it still is. I only eat it once a year because I inevitably end up eating the entire box in a single day.

Honorable mentions: Fruity Pebbles and Grape-nuts

When I was a kid, Lucky Charms because we never got it. I don't touch any of that garbage, now.

It seems like you might be just a teensy bit hard on yourself. In my layman's opinion.

reply

How so?

As a kid I loved Reece's Puffs, Fruity Pebbles, Sugar Smacks, French Toast Crunch.

Now I don't eat cereal that much due to the sugar but if I do I like Honey Bunches of Oats, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Rice Chex. I still LOVE the flavor of all the ones I liked as a kid but I'd rather have a cookie or soda if I'm going to indulge in a sugary treat.

I remember fruity pebbles; yum! I think they still make it...

reply

They definitely still make Fruity Pebbles.

reply

Yum! Delicious!!

Oat

Have you ever had Crackling Oat Bran? It’s so good but super expensive!

reply

No, I have not, I have read a little bit about it. Can only be bought from Kellogg's?

reply

Yes, it’s a Kellogg’s cereal. It always costs around $6 a box and the box is small!!!

As a kid, Cap'n Crunch. I ate it for breakfast and snacked on it throughout the day.

Now, original Cheereos.

As a kid I must have eaten every variation of junk cereal imaginable. Corn Pops was one, also Froot Loops and Lucky Charms. Captain Crunch, Count Chocula, Chocolate Rice Krispies. I'm sure I'm missing some.
As a high school stoner I remember having massive munchies for Frosted Corn Flakes, but as an adult I shifted to Raisin Bran and Wheat Chex (or is it Oat? I'm not sure). I may be a little lactose intolerant, which surprises me, but maybe I'll experiment to isolate my intake to see what's really going on.
But this whole Muesli /oatmeal, thread is the way to go, I'm thinking. No milk required.

reply

Yeah I like all of that ;) Good picks, Snepts.

reply

This isn't really a cereal but... toasted Chex Mix with all the goodies ;)
