What's a good job for someone who doesn't like people much?

I'm generally friendly and polite but because of bad experiences i see myself as a misanthrope. I currently work as a cleaner so i don't have to interact too much with people, but i want to better myself. Working with animals is top of my list but what other jobs could you recommend where i have limited interaction with people (I know most jobs require you to work with people),any suggestions?

Computer programmer at an outsourcing company. I was one. And I didn't have to interact to other people like at all. Every communication was via messaging app and emails. Works were submitted into a versioning system. No direct human to human interaction was ever needed. We did have those sometimes, but they were all voluntary.

Surprisingly, almost half of the employees were female. So I guess there are actually a significant percentage of asocial neckbeards that are female. The difference was just that their necks are without beards.

πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Forgive me. I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing because your question reminded me of my grandkid who genuinely does not like people. So what field does said grandkid choose? Medical...as in Medical Assistant! πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Will wonders never cease? πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Are you talking about veterinarian (as opposed to zoologist or some other type of profession)? If so, that's another "hell to the no." Vets are routinely harassed by psychotic clients blaming them for "killing" pets that arrived at their clinics with 0% chance of survival. There are high rates of suicide in this profession for this reason; one vet in NYC (where I'm from) was driven to suicide years ago by a Facebook group that targeted her for harassment, because she refused to hand back a sick cat that a crazy cat lady had dumped in a public park.

I’ve made a career out of working with dogs. I had a few customer service jobs when I was younger and would never do that again. Working with dogs has been great but honestly dog people can be a big pain in the ass too. For some reason the majority of dog people are know-it-all’s and prefer to come off as the most knowledgeable in their field rather than learning from each other. The dogs themselves make it rewarding enough to deal with the people annoyances.
Other suggestions would be food delivery or working in the back of the house in restaurants with the stoners. The pays not usually great but both these jobs are fun and relaxing.

Night shift guard or a cleaner. Almost no interaction with other people. Might drive you to suicide though. On the other hand other people might drive you to suicide too so who am I to say.
