I greatly admire his stance on immigration, voter's rights, education funding, the Civil Rights acts of the late 50s-60.
Johnson was on point domestically for sure
He was a fairly progressive guy and I admire that, even if I lean more conservative personally
The man loved his country and could command the room, he was also a lovable Hillbilly, I quite like a fellow like him automatically
His Vietnam policy was a disaster though...We should have never gotten our young men involved in a foreign civil war...My Father in Law got sent there, he came home alive thank God, with a bunch of medals and lots of nightmares
I do admire Johnson, he got the job done under the most terrible of circumstances, you could even say he was just carrying on the Anti-Communist policy that Kennedy had carried on from previous administrations....I don't blame them, communism is an absurd dream, unfitting for reality
I'd agree with your choice of Johnson, he did have a tough situation to deal with
