Movies you hated on 1st viewing, but now love
The Big Lebowski
Cannibal Holocaust
Movie 43 (I know I know I am suppose to shit on this movie out of principle)
To Die For

To Die For
Halloween III
The Player
Road to Perdition (was expecting Goodfellas II for some reason!) It was 6 years before I watched it again, and it's now a fave of mine. Lovely cinematography.
Blade Runner (I was about 14 and just didn't get it)
If you're including those first seen as a child, there's too many to list.
But from late teens to the present, I can't think of any.
Sometimes I see films that don't seem to move me much on first viewing -- but later I feel some subconscious pull to watch a scant few of them again. That handful usually gets added to my favorites along with those that gripped me from the start.
I can't think of one.
shareThe Game (1997)
Life or Something Like It (2002)
Gothika (2003)
Not sure why I didn't like them, but I love them now.
Fast and Furious.
shareHate may be a bit strong but the rape scene in Pulp Fiction really soured me on the movie upon first viewing...I really did not want to see that
I've seen it several times since and that scene is STILL really gross but it's otherwise a terrific movie
