There seems to be a war machine and that used to be the "military industrial complex" that keeps wars going and no one cares. Citizens have also been taught, in the US, to not talk about the massive violence in minority areas. If you mentioned it, you are bad, even if you want it to stop. Family life is hard, due to economics, and doing whatever you want is encouraged, etc.
I believe all of that keeps chaos going and chaos benefits rich people. The less education and social order you have, the more whores their will be for rich guys. You can get a poor uneducated woman with no man to give you her kids so some rich pedo can have them. You can get people to work for you at next to next nothing, and so on.
Chinese people will work until their legs swell out of control just to have an income. That's because of the chaos from too many people and not enough opportunity.
Meanwhile, the guy that owns their company is relaxing and probably has teams of women ready to do anything.
I have almost no sympathy left because nearly everyone is a total pussy who can't see this stuff and won't do anything.
People can and do change. But mostly they don't. We're talking human nature. Doesn't have much to do with linear time.
