Do you own a 4K TV?

I'm considering one... but 4K doesn't wow me like HD did. I thought DVD was plenty good, but when I first saw a HD TV I was blown away. It was like VHS to DVD! I've got to have an HD TV like right away!

4K was like meh. It's better, but 1080p is good enough for me.

5K... 6K... whatever it takes!

reply

8K is all the rage now.

reply

NICE!

reply

Wait until you see 4k it'll blow you away.

I'm thinking of getting one but I want to get one that's in the $500 range. One feature I want is the refresh rate; 60hz what I have now. The prices are insanely good.

reply

I'm still in the 720 world, lol!

reply

720 is HD Ready and it's still way better than DVD.

reply

No, I'm content with my HD tv.

reply

No. I only have VHS eyes, so it'd be wasted.

reply

No, but in all seriousness - to the youngsters out there - it is time for me to buy a new TV.

Any recommendations?

This site has pretty in-depth reviews

Thanks nyctc - I appreciate it.

I go back and forth between that site and bestbuy.com to see current availability and pricing.

I just have a 40” 1080p TV which is good enough for me. If I was going to buy a new TV I would probably buy a 4K because it is probably the norm now. Probably what is more important at this point than number of pixels is dynamic range, color accuracy, refresh rate and, always, reliability. I’m planning on buying a new PC to work as an engineering workstation so I will probably buy a 4K monitor for that.
