What Is Your Favourite Unknown Horror Movie?

This discussion is about listing our favourite lesser known horror films, If like me you are a fan of the genre, you will likely have sat through a large amount of crappy or cheesy horror flicks, but every once in a while you can come across a film that makes you ask yourself, Why Have I Never Seen This Film Until Now?

So please feel free to mention any film that you feel to be a real find, you can also give a brief description of it (even if its just an IMDb Synopsis) but please try and avoid mentioning spoilers on the film as that will make people less inclined to watch it.

Still working my way through my IMDB ratings. Midnight Offerings. TV Movie 1981

reply

I have heard of this one but have never seen it. What rating did you give it?

reply

I gave it an 8 but its not scary. Its kitchy. You can only see it on YouTube. Probably more girl oriented because its about two girl witches who go up against each other.

Other recommendations:

Camp Death III in 2D! (2018)
A very funny and outrageous horror comedy.

The Rape of the Vampire (1968)
Stylish, beautiful, bizarre, and erotic.

Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (1988)
Sorority girls steal a trophy that contains an evil imp. Sexy, wacky fun.

Island of Death (1976)
A bizarre, at times shocking film about perverted, maniac killers on an island.

Midnight Movie (2008)
A killer comes off the screen to attack viewers at the theater watching a midnight showing of a 70s horror film

Deliria (1987)
A group of stage actors locked in a theater with a psychotic killer.

Humanoids from the Deep (1980)
Half man, half fish creatures rape and kill. A guilty pleasure.

Dolls (1987)
People in an mansion during a storm with killer dolls.

I think Island of Death is a Greek film and it’s a weird one no doubt.

Probably Kill List from 2011.
Enjoy the dread!

Halloween at Aunt Ethel's (2019) - Everyone in town knows the story of Old Aunt Ethel. It's said she makes Halloween candy and pumpkin pie out of the kids that trick-or-treat at her house. This Halloween, the neighborhood teens are going to find out the truth.

Truth be told it feels a lot more like a comedy but I was surprised how much I genuinely liked this one.

Any relation to Crazy Fat Ethel (1975)?

reply

Haven't seen that one but pretty sure they're separate. HaAE is on Amazon Prime so if you're looking for a laugh, check it out.

Ju-On White Ghost & Black Ghost - Ju-On (meaning: Grudge) is the japanese movie that was remade with Buffy... I mean, Sarah Michelle Gears. The original japanese franchise has several more movies, though, and they're not bad at all. I like these two.

Bloodsucking Bastards (2015) - Low budget vampire comedy. Bloody hilarious.

Vampire Cleanup Department (2017) - Jiangshi genre (chinese vampires, often used in horror comedy). It's not really scary, but... it's cute as hell πŸ’›
