Which of your favorite movies are you most surprised u love?

I know it's a tricky and odd question, but what I am asking is which movies in your favorites group are you most surprised is there?

Maybe it's one that falls in a genre you normally don't watch, maybe it's one most people could care less about.

Some my popular favorites are Braveheart, Dawn of The Dead, Back to The Future, and The Shining, which I would guess are on many other's favorite lists as well. Ok I know Braveheart takes a lot of heat, but what can I say...I love it and it is my FAVORITE film of all time.

But back to the topic of conversation, a few I never imagined I'd love so dearly but realize I just do are:

Cheap Thrills- Little indy film from 2013 I've probably watched over 10 times now. I love the build up of craziness, and for me and my past lifestyle of raves, drugs, and free love, there is something about all of the drug usage and one of the challenges I am drawn too. It's a movie I always recommend to friends and they all said they liked it.

The Bounty (1984) - For me this is easily one of the best action adventure period pieces ever. Superb acting and the story moves along at a great pace. The cute Tahitian women doesn't hurt either.

The Void - It's quickly becoming one of my favorite horror films. Have watched it 4 times now and only planning on just once. Guess it's one of those movies I just seem to pick over and over. I find the Lovecraftian ghouls creepy.

I’ve never been into martial arts movies but I really loved Hero. It was just visually stunning.
Also, I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I liked twilight and new moon. I watched them because we’d seen everything else red box had and to my surprise and horror, I enjoyed them.

I own The Bounty (1984) and watch it 1-2 times a year.

But there isn't a favorite that surprises me that I like it. The question is, does it surprise people who know you.

I’ve always been a fan of The Bounty and I have it on VHS.

Andy Hardy Meets Debutante (1940)

The Andy Hardy films are hokey with a capital H. But they come across as being so decent and wholesome that even an old cynic like me can't help but respond to them. And of course Judy Garland at 18 when she was healthy and could sing like an angel and in my opinion was a better actor than Mickey Rooney.

Probably "The New World." I watched it back in 2006 or 07 and it blew me away. I still watch it every now and then.

The Bounty is a great movie. You might like this documentary that retraced Captain Bligh's 4,000 mile journey.

My best friends wedding. Completely the wrong genre I would normally enjoy but it's a fun film. And one that I first watched well after it came out.

The other rom com I like is Truth about cat and dogs.

Amadeus (1984), Jane Eyre (1996), Casanova (2005), and Black Sails (TV show), since otherwise I don't really like period pieces. I guess it has to do with the directors and actresses/actors involved.
