...did TV or movies make you think might be common, but when you grew up you found out it wasn’t?

I sometimes worried about quicksand. Has anyone here even seen quicksand??

After getting a shower, I never walk around the house with a towel around my waist. I dry off and get dressed.

CB Radio seemed like the wave of future communication...that sure fizzled out!

Believe it or not, truckers still use them. I don't think anyone else does, though.

My dad had a weird A-Team looking van with a CB Radio during his divorce from my mom
My teen babysitters would flirt with random truckers on that CB Radio...it was weird!
I may have heard things I shouldn't have😳

It was a cool van though;)

Just after high school my oldest brother bought a van that he fixed up with shag carpet on the walls, stereo speakers, a bed, and a CB. It was sort of a metallic rust color and he named it The Brass Monkey. He had some fancy artwork with the name on the sides. Wish I knew where my picture of it is... It was a big thing back in the 70s. He belonged to a van club, too.
