All the American news channels are covering this Hurricane around the clock. Unless you live there or have family there, do you watch this? I always thought it unseemly as the networks rush there and the stupid live shots of the reporters pushing against the wind.

shareI do watch it some, and it's a double edge sword. We want to see coverage of this event, but when does it cross over into sensationalism and ghoulishness? I do like the shots of the reports pushing against the wind because it gives you a vivid picture of the actual conditions. But, on the other hand, it kind of disgusts me when reporters make themselves the story.
PS I just tuned it in and they're showing a nice video of dogs being rescued.

I watch the reports about your disastrous fires and I don’t live there. I feel for you folks, the animals, both domesticated and wildlife. Maybe if the news had concentrated more on the obliterated MS gulf coast instead of solely on New Orleans, people in this country would have been made aware of the aftermath of Katrina’s rage.

I can't stand how the press/tv/radio go on forever with the reporting of certain events like the hurricane. Yes,, it is a disaster affecting many people, but move on!
