What are some of your favorite films? A curious, inquiring mind wants to know.

I really dread questions like this
'Its too hard...I AINT tough enough Sarge!!'
Ok ill try:

The original Scwartzie Conan is my all time fave (feel free to roll your eyes lol i get that all the time)
I might sub The Goonies or Star Wars or Lost Ark for one of the others...i guess there are more but man...
Tough question!

reply

"Goodfellas" and "Platoon" were good ones! I never did see "Conan the Barbarian", however.

I've seen "The Goonies", which was a lot of fun, and "Raiders of the Lost Ark", as well.

PS Did you invite Shogun?

😎

reply

He always invites himself.

reply

But of course he does! He is, after all, the Second Most Interesting Man in the World!

I come in at number three.

😎

reply

Let me guess who's at number one. Richard Simmons?

reply

No, the Dos Equis Beer dude.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKTyRoM87nQ

😎

reply

That must be the blandest guy I've ever seen...

reply

An interesting reaction, Strat. I think he's pretty cool. That's why he's number one, and I'm only number three.

If you ask really nice, I might even tell you why I'm number three.

😎

reply

I'm shocked, if it weren't for Richard Simmons, I'd put you at number one. But pray tell, why are you only at number three?

reply

Well because the Dos Equis guy is Number One, and Shogun is Number Two. Shogun is one awesome dude! Did you know that he's married to Rosario Dawson? She is one hot babe!

At number three I humbly list my qualifications:

I'm a world traveler, having been to all 50 states in the US, 30 other countries, and five continents, including Africa.
I'm a registered scuba diver, and have dove to 110 feet under the Atlantic Ocean.
I hold a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate)
I have been skydiving.
I have been hang gliding.
I have been para sailing (totally different thing).
I've ridden in a powered parachute.
I have ridden in an old time bi-wing airplane.
I have taken Ultra Light Lessons, and have flown five times.
I'm a storm chaser. I've been on four storm chasing trips, and have seen 30 tornadoes with my own eyes.
Once when we were only 300 yards from an approaching tornado, the van took off without two of us! Fortunately they quickly realized their mistake, and stopped to pick us up. Close call there.
I have seen the Aurora from Coldfoot Camp, Alaska
(60 miles north of the Arctic Circle) in December at
a temperature of -40 F.
In February, it will be "Goooooooooood Morning, Vietnam! I'm taking an 18 day tour of Vietnam, Cambodia, with three days at the end in Bangkok. (Cue the song "One Night in Bangkok".)
I love Blue Moon Beer.

I could go on, but I might sound like I was bragging.
And most of all, I'm soft spoken and very humble.

😎

reply

Yeah, I'm still gonna put Richard Simmons at number one. But buy me a six-pack of Blue Moon beer and I might reconsider.

reply

Well hell, that puts me down to number four!

But that's okay, and i'll buy you a case of Blue Moon, honey!

😎

reply

Will taste great with the sour cream dip!

reply

Yes it will!

😎

reply

reply

"There Will Be Blood" and "The Seventh Seal" were good films. I never saw any off the other films that you listed, however.

reply

Surprised.. They are pretty mainstream movies considering the movies that would rank behind.

3. Avalon (1990)
4. Local Hero (1983)

reply

All these considered neo noir films and they are my favorites.

U Turn
Romeo is Bleeding
Bound
Sin City
Palmetto

reply

Wow!! I've never even heard of any of these films, let alone seen any of them. They sound interesting, though.

reply

I've never even heard of any of these films, let alone seen any of them

A little surprised you have not heard of Sin City. U Turn has many stars in it. Sean Penn, Jennifer Lopez, Billy Bob Thornton, Powers Boothe, Nick Nolte, Joaquin Phoenix and Claire Danes.

Lina Olin's performance in Romeo is Bleeding is worth seeing it for that alone. Gary Oldman also stars in it.

Bound stars Jennifer Tilly, Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano.

Palmetto stars Woody Harrelson, Elisabeth Shue Chloe Sevigny, Gina Gershon and Michael Rapaport.

reply

All good.

Especially Romeo and Bound.

reply

The only films on your list I've seen are Silver Streak, Chariots of Fire, and Local Hero. SS is mediocre at best IMHO, but the other two are classics.
