Another thing that NO ONE ever talks about is the literal TONS of junk mail that goes from the mailbox to the trash can, that is apparently just fine. I read that each person in the US gets the equivalent of 15 trees worth of junk mail per year. I'm no green weenie but that's just abject waste of resources and the energy used in the process. Deforestation anyone?
