I disagree with the entire incident being a travesty but see it more as the culmination of circumstances creating the proverbial, "perfect storm". Floyd obviously appeared to be in a downward spiral in his life at that point. Both he and Chauvin have a checkered past, which includes violence, and were on the classic, "collision course".

What I do agree with is, that if he had simply complied, he would probably still be alive. One of the first witnesses called was an elderly black man, the first bystander, eyewitness on the scene, who kept urging him to do just that but by then, the situation was already out of control.

We are at the point in this nation which has gone to hell in a hand basket, Chauvin et al, need to fall on their own swords. By pleading guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter, and to be sentenced then quietly be turned over to the U.S. Marshalls so he can go into hiding. It’s not only his life at stake, but his family’s and the jurors!
