If Cavill was the actor they claimed him to be, he wouldn't have had so many post Superman flops It's a good version, but certainly not my favorite. I think it's worth at least watching once being as it's one of the oldest adaptations. The difference is a cinematic version of Captain America hadn't been established yet and people knew it was apart of the MCU building towards The Avengers movie. Anthony Mackie isn't the star that Evans was. I won't be shocked if it bombs/underperforms. Look how that worked out. Superficial for sure, but it is a fun watch at least once just to see where it synchs up. Same. We had it on a recorded VHS with other Christmas specials when I was a kid. I watch it on Christmas Eve every year. Same. I like it more than the Peanuts Thanksgiving special honestly. It did, but it's still a bad movie. Nothing at the moment, but Charlie Day said in an interview he'd love to do a 3rd one. Considering this one didn't do great at the box office, it would probably have to get picked up by a streaming service. Should also be noted they aren't letting critics post reviews until noon today. 2 hours before release. Word of mouth from the public is mixed and it slightly underperformed at the box office this weekend. Won't flop outright, but might end up not doing as well as Paramount hoped for. We will see how it holds this weekend. The Last Duel was great, and of course it performed the worst at the box office of his last couple movies. It's a shame Richard Jewell bombed because it was a great movie and imo his best directorial effort in the 2010's. I guess lack of star power and the subject matter weren't enough to get people to the box office. Cry Macho on the other hand was released on MAX same day it was in theaters during COVID and it's also one of Clint's worst movies imo. I wouldn't be shocked if he was at the very least bi. This is his 2nd recent role where he has played a gay man and he's openly said he enjoys going to gay bars. Can't blame him. Apple does not seem like the best studio to be working with at the moment. The first movie was a 5/10 for me. It had it's moments and certainly better than most video game movies, but the plot was weak and it fell back onto way too many tropes from kids movies I don't like. This one was a 7-7.5/10. Still had some pacing issues and not all the humor worked, but as a Sonic fan it delivered a lot more on what I was hoping the first movie would have. I'm looking forward to the 3rd one next month. Well I don't want to meet you either. It actually is doing quite well at the theaters it's in. I honestly believe if Warner Bros had given it a decent marketing campaign it could've done well at the box office.
