Yeah, it's a sign of how he didn't really care that much about her at the time beyond her superficial appearance. Even if he grew to appreciate her more after she left.
Yes, that was better. Just realized how similar the title/film was. Also No Country for Old Men.
Yeah, pretty sure Paige is okay.
This fits with the fact that Paige was clearly a sympathetic character, even if her way of trying to help Jacob was messed up, and probably unnecessary.
Sympathetic characters aren't usually killed off in movies. Especially young, female, innocent, sympathetic characters.
The music was also very Hitchcockian.
But still better than most indies.
Pretty sure he just messed up his brain from huffing.
But arguably, it did shut down the more masculine side of his brain, and allowed the more feminine side to become more prominent.
Do you have a disabled person in your family? Are you close to any?
I'm guessing *some* mentally disabled people are like this, even if some/most are not. So I'm not sure why this would bother you. (I'm guessing many ordinary mothers would address a special-needs offspring in this way.)
And abuse/disparagement of all kinds of people is sadly common. The movie is realistic in that regard, if dark. But abuse is an intrinsic element of many films, including this one.
This story was actually written by Patricia Highsmith, a very successful writer. Jsia.
