Yeah it’s a big piece of poop
It just seemed like this movie didn’t make much of an impact on anything. It’s only been a year and barely anyone still talks about it. It hardly made any impact on pop culture. I can’t think of a single catchphrase or quote from it. It honestly feels like a glorified HBO movie.
Buttchug is a corny, Democrat establishment type with no clear policy agenda and who uses a lot of flowery, non-specific platitudes to get people in touch with their “feelings” and cultural values so he never has to implement anything concrete if he was president. Literally every time he answered a question during the primaries he was vague and non-transparent on each point, which is why he ducked out and schilled for Biden. He was like the white, unfunny version of Obama.

Psychopaths can be quite charming, especially movie villain psychopaths. The real Amon Goeth looked decidedly unpleasant.
Yeah I get your point that the thing is a threat to earth if it gets out.... kind of the whole point of the movie. What I’m saying is counteracting your basic summation of the plot, by saying that even <I>if</i> the thing managed to reach the shoreline — and that’s a big if if it began to freeze before it made it — it would also assume the thing would be able to catch anything and swim out of there. It’s not exactly easy hunting in Antarctica. We also don’t know how low a temperature the Thing can stand.
