Totally agree with the length of the film. Nothing was happening in 75% or more of the shots and they didn't seem to be setting up anything except constant unknowingness. It was one of the most difficult films to sit through and I normally like these types of films. Like someone else said, this could have been an amazing 30 minute short film. Also, it seemed like we were mostly looking at still pictures or hardly any movement. Would have been a lot more interesting to watch the kids moving around the house trying to figure out what was going on. I get it, it cost almost nothing to make, but it shows and it needed a little more. Agreed, very overrated and Kubrick is one of the most overrated directors in general. Dr. sleep movie was better IMO. Totally agree. The sequel was solid. I want more Becky. I mostly agree. If the ending came together more satisfyingly, I would have been happy with the movie for the most part. My 2 major complaints was it was to repetitive. They kept repeating the same items over and over and it was just too much....at some point, it just seemed like they were filling time. Secondly, like you noted above...why did bob kill her? I believe they were trying to make it look like he had been pushed to the brink and had to get out of the room any way he could, BUT it wasn't believable at the instance, that bob had been pushed that far to murder someone. They also tried to relate it to the deaths of the kids in Germany...that anyone could be pushed beyond the brink. I didn't buy it. Concerning their age, I agree also and was thinking that the entire movie. The odd thing is Jeremy Holm who played Stanton looks younger in real life, so they made him look older for the movie. Very odd. The director does have a great movie out in 2015 called "We are still here". I highly recommend it. I've been following his work since that movie and believe he has the potential to become great. "brought some bad stuff back with her"....I love the idea. Just watched this for a second time as the images keep popping in my head from time to time and my mind tends to forget details quickly so I wanted to experience it again and see what it felt like the second time around. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed it and the images haunt me on some level. This is a VERY underappreciated movie. I can't believe there is not more discussion here about it. Just taking your word on that scene, you should consider the character was possibly racist. There are a lot of character's parents on comedies they make somewhat racist or naive. It doesn't mean the "show" is racist. Now now, no one said anything about everyone who "disagrees" with me. I said those who don't mention a homosexual relationship in the story and it has nothing to do with the story and in the last 10 seconds of the movie says btw I'm gay with the other character and the movie ends. Big difference and you know it. And you also know it was thrown in there for a real purpose that has nothing to do with the movie. Even ignoring removing white characters because I didn't play the game. My brain can't wrap around the good reviews. The first episode was one of the worst sci-fi shows I've seen. Everything was bad. I couldn't name one good thing. I can't figure out if 12 year olds are writing all these reviews or the studio hired people to pump the hell out of it. It's definitely "cringe" and not worth watching AT ALL. I understand you bailing out. There was several episodes that seemed to go no where in the middle, but for the most part it was very good and it finished strong. I am very happy I finished it and really enjoyed it. Couldn't agree more. I hated his whiny character in the potter movies, but loved him in this. He was good in "knock at the cabin" also. Will be following him from now on. And honestly, I'd love to see him in a little bit of a spin-off continuation of Servant. The first segment "Shredding" was probably the worst segment out of all the V/H/S movies. "Suicide bid" and "The Gawkers" both had a lot of potential until the creatures showed up. I was probably most entertained by "ozzy's dungeon" but it felt so out of place for a V/H/S segment. The reason the first movies were so great was the attempt to make them look as if some strange shit was accidently recorded on VHS tapes. They need to take that concept back to the drawing board for the next one. I have some hope for the next one as director David Bruckner is coming back. Anderson claims to be 5' 9" tall, so probably even shorter and I'd guess weighs 120 pounds. That's what I mean by complete weakling and his personality wasn't tough either. Danny Glover was the hero in the movie, but Busey was leading the military attack against the predator. You do bring up another ridiculous point of the movie. I've generally liked Danny Glover in other movies, but he was miscast in Predator 2. Arnold Schwarzenegger barely beats the predator, but Danny Glover in a suit takes on several predator and beats them? I'm sticking with one of the worst sequels. Keith David or Wesley Snipes instead of Danny Glover and I'm more of a believer. So you're saying they don't have gay sex in the book, but they do in the series. Gotcha. She says they are "parents". She does not say they have a sexual relationship, but she is a producer on the new series, so I imagine she supports the new storyline. My point was the book does not say they were in a sexual relationship. This was revised for the series. Just say you like the new twist and I'd respect that more than trying to change the facts about the book. Stopped watching the show in episode 3. Too much homosexual nonsense. Haven't read the books, but looked into it thoroughly and it's not in the book. Stop trying to force it on everyone with less than 5% of the United States claiming to be LGBT. Almost every show that forces it is cancelled pretty quickly. Now I know the allegations are false. No one is desperate enough to hit on or sexually harass Geena Davis. NO one. Having finished the first episode, I like the production and enjoyed it for the most part. It could have been so much better with someone more charming and charismatic playing the part of Louis. Jacob Anderson just isn't believable. AMC did a great job with the episode IMO which makes it even more frustrating how good this show could have been. Obviously the guy playing Lestat is very weak also. A real shame, but I am doing to keep watching for now. I still miss Terra Nova...not because it was one of the best shows ever made, but because it was solid for its first season and had a LOT of potential. I agree about Jericho also. Broadcast TV is a complete joke now. I cancelled DISH and went with Sling TV and don't miss broadcast at all. I'd love to see Terra Nova concept brought back again.
