From what I’ve seen a lot of people got different responses. Even ones that were a bit rude. But Netflix thinks if they just ignore or give off rude remarks, it’ll make the fans give up... which is what they want. Sense8 is the only original that I’ve seen that Netflix did finally give in to bringing back when fans wouldn’t stop bothering them with it. So I think it’s a 50/50 chance of maybe getting a 3rd season of the OA or maybe not. Although they’re asking for a full season and not a movie, it is something fans are going to have to fight twice as hard for. But like I said, we’ll see what happens... until the fans call it quits there’s still a good chance of it possibly getting renewed.
Netflix just says the same thing over and over if you call them, that the show is cancelled and they have two remaining season. They’re getting aggravated because fans won’t let it go, which means they’re listening. And if they want the fans to stop they have to give them what they want. Actors were released from contracts yes, but 2 of them are being pretty vocal about how the fans should keep fighting and not give up. They got enough attention to get offered a 2 hour wrap up but with what the creators have planned they can’t fit the rest of the 24 hour story into 2 hours. It will kill (and rush) the story and the art of it. So I’m okay with the creators turning down that offer. The more people who check out the show the more cancellations there will be. If Netflix will just give the fans at least a third season, they’ll not only get their subscribers back but even more people subscribed than before. Disney plus and Apple TV is about to come out so once that hits and Netflix loses even more subscribers, they may start thinking about caring about their customers and getting them back. But we’ll see what happens, I think it’s still going strong for now with the fans so there’s still a chance Netflix will change their mind. Netflix doesn’t care about art, all they care about is money, so that’s what the fans are trying to take away from them since their money isn’t going to the shows they love. You just have to keep fighting the system!
Well fans are making a lot of noise bothering Netflix to bring it back. So they are fighting really hard to get it renewed. There’s a petition going that already has over 80,000 signatures, they funded a billboard in Times Square to Save The OA, and they’ve done many other things. They lost a lot of subscribers due to angry fans, so you’re not the only one. They definitely aren’t letting this go and because of all the noise and promotion they’ve been doing, more people have checked out the show and joined the fandom to help save it. Hopefully Netflix will come to their senses and change their mind soon!
No a wrap up movie wouldn’t work with what the creators had planned. They planned a 5 season series and there’s no way they can wrap up 24 hours of story left into 2 hours. It would kill the story (also rush it) and kill the art of it. I’d rather have the rest of the 3 seasons or nothing at all imo.
Completely agree! The OA is an underrated show that didn’t get much promotion from Netflix like they promoted Stranger Things, so no one has even heard of it to check it out. In my opinion, The OA is like the adult version of Stranger Things haha
Netflix cancelled it but there has been fan theories that it’s a fake cancel due to how Season 2 ended. As far as from what actors from the show has said, it really is cancelled. If you want to help bring the show back, fans have a petition going for a third season and have been making a lot of noise to get Netflix to change their mind and give us a third season. A lot has been happening and fans have been promoting the show the last 2 months big time. So anything could happen at this point...
In my opinion, Season 2 is way better than Season 1. Yeah, Season 1 can go for a stand alone but season 2 is what really goes beyond everything where it gets weird and creative. It’s still worth the watch! It’s good to get more viewers and people in the show so that Netflix will change their mind and renew it. The OA was rated number one as the most underrated show recently and now people are hearing about it and watching. Fans are going to the extreme of bringing it back. Every season is going to be a different theme so none of the seasons are going to compare similar to each other. Some people didn’t like Season 2 because it was too weird for them or they didn’t understand it. But after watching Legion, I think that one is more challenging to keep up with then The OA. Both are great shows though and they really open your mind...
Then you’re going to love this one! Season 1 might be a bit slow but stay with it cause Season 2 is going to take you for a ride and get weirder. Let me know what you think. Enjoy!
If you liked this show, go check out a show called The OA on Netflix. It’s mind-blowing. I loved Legion! I think it’s my second favorite right after The OA.
Although Legion was more psychological, The OA is more dimensional of parallel worlds. Maybe you’ll like it or you won’t, but it’s a mind-bending series too! Keep an open mind if you want to take on some weirdness... 🐙
