@ jf22561 This movie was riddled with problems. I didn't know what the heck I was watching... I wanted my hour and a half back. It was a snoozefest. Lucky for me, I found a video explaining the film on Youtube. But even with the help I received in interpreting it, I still wasn't satisfied with it. No moral/ lesson to take away from it. Nothing new was introduced, no solid impression was made. *shakes head* What a waste.

Iirc, he was trying to get to some sort of rescue station or shelter... maybe where he could send out a signal for help, or come across people who could help him out. This shelter was depicted/ represented by a diamond on the map. The map was helping him chart an unobstructed course through the rocky terrain. I.e.: it showed him a path he could travel that was just flat land and no hills/ mountains. Hope that helps.

@ hownos If my husband ever cheated on me, I would simply shut off all feeling towards him. Then I see myself drifting off and focusing on other men. I would respond to infidelity so differently from the way Glenn Close's character did. I agree with you: she was far too charitable towards that diseased prick of a husband she had. Cheating is an absolute no-no.... It's weird because prior to meeting my husband, I didn't think much of fidelity. But it was my husband who showed me the value of true intimacy, loyalty, and monogamy. It boggles my mind that "the wife" stayed until the very end. Maybe she did it for her children's sake.

@ AnubisRaydeen I would have liked to watch a movie that gave unambiguous answers re. everyone's motivations. But that's just me... I need everything to be tied up in a little bow. Agree with you re. the rating: 6/10 is what this movie deserves. Thanks for your response to my post.

The movie got mixed reviews on IMDB. I don't care about the reviews. I'm going to watch it to see my favourite actor - Charlie Hunnam.
