I thought about that too. They could have just driven to the next ocean and release him. I think, Elisa used the "rain has to fill the canal"-thing as an excuse to keep the creature/meerman a while. It was a selfish thing to do and not based on reasoning. She felt alone and had a connection to him/it. So she set the date when to release him as far away as her conscience allowed her to. The rain was just an excuse. Actually... it happens in the show quite a lot. It did and does... I´m so glad this turned out to be a hit! Grossing over 300 Millionen worldwide and still doing good. Hopefully, we get more original Musicals in the future :) The beginning was such a disappointment - wow - what a fake out. Lazy lame story writing. 1 out 10 Clara got her perfect goodbye - I was surprised to see her at all. Denial is only the first step of the mourning process. You will get over it soon ;) I don't know what you are trying to achieve ... but your twist won't happen... we saw the change from Capaldi to Whittaker right in front of us. She is The Doctor. And I guess, it is a good thing. Nope --- but I guess she got the most Happy Ends. *Spoiler ahead* Season 1 - Minor role (but survives) Season 2 - Happy End Season 3 - Happy End Season 4 - Happy End Season 5 - Already Dead (a ghost) (but gets salvation - if I remember right) Season 6 - Dies (her funniest role) Season 7 - Happy End Even so she dies once - you can sense a pattern ;) The ending saved the episode for me - the two frogs and the daughter with the witch - at least a little twist. The whole season has the feel of a daily at times - with awkward story-elements - especially everything in the present. The only good episode was the last one 7x04 - and only the Belle & Gold part. Have we seen Anastasia in the flasbacks? It would be the coolest thing, if it would be the Anastasia from Once Wonderland... - finally we would get an explanation why Will was in Storybroke... if he thought his love was dead... --- just wishful thinking ;) I wish it would have been a hit... I really enjoyed the 3h. It was pure cinematic magic :) But they would have fled together - if the babysitter hadn't taken Oz from school before them... Or maybe Ally snapped because of that - we´ll see ;) The Black Mirror Episode was brilliant ... the Orville Version was ok. Lacked logic. But the Show is really stretching it, how far you can go with copying ... Perfectly responded ;) I'm with you on one thing - filming practical and mostly without greenscreen, looks better - but good CGI isn't made with hitting a few buttons. In most Blockbusters you can tell, when they use CGI - a lot of Marvel Films look bland at points - because nothing feels real. And then there are films like Blade Runner 2049, Gravity, Prometheus or Disctrict 9 which use a lot of CGI but it doesn't bother because it looks so good. That is a quality not easy achieved and depends on a lot of planning and a lot of time. Like filming practical effects does too. Watch the Making of Gravity - I didn't know how much was CGI while watching it in the cinema - its incredible. But they devoted so much time in the special effects that they got this amazing quality. (almost 4 years) And Pixar Movies never look real - it is way easier to have non realistic characters, because you won't get into the uncanny valley - like Tron with the young Jeff Bridges - for example. And we were right ;) I'm really excited to see what you can do with blender. Please show us - if it is so easy... I'm sorry to say --- you have no idea at all. The special effects were amazing and almost never looked digital. The city scenes made me wonder, if they used real models for some parts - because it looked soooo good. Set pieces were amazing. The hologram "sex" blending scene was visually a work of art. You have no Idea what it takes to make a film look that good. Last film I visually enjoyed that much, was Gravity. Young Captain Sparrow was really well done, too. Princess Leia in Rogue One was ok too - but a bit more artificial. Maybe she just wanted to get rid of her partner without having to fight for custody... Someone must have planted that camera and the fact that she just ignored it... She isn´t evil enough to want Sarah Paulson character dead I guess. That would be an amazing twist - but they have to find a good reason why Jessica Langes character from Season 1 would give up that child - and even more amazing... she should be back for that explanation ;) I really like it... but I doubt it. Sadly. I had the exact same thoughts on No. 2. It didn´t make sense to guess and "know" all this things from "L"'s perspective. Not if the movie is set in "our" world except for the Deathnote. Maybe they should have introduced "L" as some kind of Agent Mulder who is specialized in paranormal things... that would have made a little sense.
