Are we talking full-blown experimental, art house weird here?
I'm open to virtually any type of weird you have to offer. Any genre, any era, any language... If you have suggestions, I want to hear them :) Thanks for the other recommendations, I've already seen Vampire's Kiss (1988), I'll try and track down the other ones you mentioned. Same to you. You're pathetic and not worth my time. Everyone can see what you've done. Go bother someone else. You can literally look up everything I said. But again, you don't want to do that because you'd be proven incorrect. I gave you data, you can choose to remain ignorant if that's your choice, but its very obvious that you grievance is illegitimate. Oh believe me, I already know. I've seen him called some variation of pathetic on so many boards without it deterring him at all that I'm starting to think that his entire schtick is all apart of some elaborate ruse to satiate his humiliation kink 😂 1. We were not debating. You said a bunch of easily disproven nonsense about a film. I disproved it. That's not a debate. 2. I have no reason to talk to you for the reasons I already explained. 3. You were the one who implied familiarity. But yes, even though I have only seen a handful of her films from the 70s and 80s, I still knew more than you as I already displayed by disproving several of your arguments against the film. So yes, you're obviously not familiar. 4. If just pointing out that you were mistaken and drawing attention to what anyone who comes to this board can clearly see that you're doing equals "insults and lies" then then maybe you should reconsider which one of us is psychotic. 5. Do you know what the word "probably" means? It means that something is very likely or in all likelihood. Stating that it's very likely you never watched this movie isn't an accusation; it's simply a recognition of the most logical conclusion based on evidence. For example, maybe you happened to recall an Italian film from the 1970s, all the message boards for which were inactive for nine years until I made my post. Maybe you have seen it even though you don't seem to know anything about it, as evidenced by your initial comment. Maybe you have independently decided to comment on my post, unrelated to me calling you out on another board. And maybe you did all of these things after making a sizable number of posts calling other movies lame propaganda even though you couldn't have seen them all because some of them weren't even released at the times you made the accusations, thus proving that you have a habit of lying about films you've never seen. But, PROBABLY not. Ratio? - Well, that would depend on the region and time period. Archaeological studies of skeletons and DNA evidence at known battle sites in modern-day Shizuoka Prefecture found that almost 30% were women during the 16th century. In other regions during the same period, women were estimated to comprise 1-5% of the samurai class. In the time period this series (1603-1616) is set, samurai made up approximately 6% (1, 080, 000) of the total population (18 million). That means that even as a minority, there were approximately 10,800-54,000 female samurai in Japan during this time period, and that's if we disregard outliers like the Shizuoka region. There's no conspiracy; they were there. If you argue with that, you're arguing with the evidence. You could have just looked this up, but you probably don't want to do that, as most historians and archaeological evidence support my observation. Do you want me to ruin Vikings for you too? Japan has a very long history with female warriors, something even the quickest of Google searches could have confirmed: https://www.travelcontentcreators.com/female-samurai/ https://allabout-japan.com/en/article/10785/ https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/samurai-women-shogun-legends There were female gladiators, female pirates, female warriors in several different cultures around the world. For so long, women were removed from depictions of careers that they did historically occupy that now that they're being added back people act as though it's an affront to storytelling. In regards to the depiction of waifs who can beat up a horde of enemies singlehandedly - yeah, I'm not a fan of that either. But there's absolutely no reason that women shouldn't be depicted as inhabiting any of the spaces and roles that they did throughout history. I think it's safe to say that he doesn't know what that means 🤣 Nah. I already exposed you for lying about a film you've probably never seen because you're a salty b*stard. Our communication is pretty much pointless at this point. Also, I never claimed to have internalised her vast filmography. You're the one that said this was one of her worst films, implying that you're familiar with a large enough swath to definitively make that conclusion, when you didn't even know that it was one of her better received films of the 70s. Besides that, you were only able to mention her biggest hit in the 80s, The Taming of the Scoundrel, which isn't exactly what I'd call an early one of hers as it was almost a decade into her career 🤣. Such a refined palette you have! I guess we should add it too the list 😂 In Australia, and for many other countries during this time period, yes, it would have been a luxury. In a major city in the US at that time period, I think colour TVs were pretty much mainstream. Apparently black people having opinions about literally any other person for literally any other reason even if totally divorced from the topic of race is just too damn woke for them. 🙄 Women = propaganda 😂. You're so pathetic. Having fun going through my entire post history and leaving comments under everything I've ever watched. Wow, you are salty to come over here. 😂 Also, this was one of the highest rated movies that Ornella did during the entire 70s, so I'm just going to assume that you're not very familiar with her filmography. She even won the Grolla d'oro for Best Debut Actress. No need to guess. I've seen this guy on basically every contemporary movie board with a female lead say the same thing. It's in 90% of his posts. The other 10% is complaining about some poorly-defined version of anything he deems "woke." I admire your spirit. But people like this aren't worth the time. 1.I don’t care about your criticism of Face Off. It’s Face Off. Also… I took it personally because I don’t want to engage with you for as long as blindfolded? Is this some weird old wives tale, “he teases you because he likes you,” type logic? 2. List doesn't equal fake. You mentioned the list on its own, separate from the internet. This makes it seem like you have two separate complaints. You also focused more on the internet in your argument. Unless you believe the list originated from the ENTIRE internet, then thats one hell of a confusing way to refer only to a list. 3. Spontaneous and forced are irrelevant, and even if they weren't, it's not something you can prove. For example, I think you're arguing right now because you enjoy arguing, not because you care that much about Face Off. Face Off! But I wouldn't repeat that assumption as fact to others because my interpretation isn't some all-important cosmic law. 4. Blindfolded was respectful in their first post. However, you responded by calling the audience obnoxious, rude, and morons. You escalated things with aggression. My point about maturity wasn't directed at them, it was for you. Also... an eggplant, really? 5. Holy Gish Galloping Batman! 6. I can see that this is only going in circles.. this will be my last reply. Thanks, I’ll give them a go. I’m not going to be drawn into a large argument like blindfolded. I read your thread. I think you're attributing too much blame onto people for, what is for a lot of people concerning Face Off, expected behaviour. That is all. Again, sorry you had a bad viewing, but you cant read people's minds and say for a fact that they’re forcing themselves to laugh at the wrong moment for… reasons(?) I’d ask why you think my explanation makes no sense given that you admit it never happened before, but again, I’m not blindfolded. Your only argument involves attributing behaviour to “the internet” - nothing specific, just “the internet” even though you have no way to prove that since the only way you could would involve mind reading skills… If this is really so important to you, rent a projector and play it off of your laptop. You can have your own screening. No pesky giggling cabal of Gen Zers required! Also for someone who’s criticising other people for being immature, you're very quick to the name calling.
