She took the cup back, rotated it and drunk from where his lips had been. That's what I saw anyway and it seemed an explicit expression of - well something. It's a funny film, for most of the time it just seemed a very pretty almost self-indulgent exercise but then we have the revelation almost at the end and several tonnes of insight suddenly crash down on you - just going to have to watch it again. Thanks - I guess I missed that bit. I'm not sure we actually saw him being released though. As I remember it (which has already been proved to be of suspect quality) the screen faded to monochrome and matched the earlier memory of his mom - so we could still have been looking at a day dream. As I saw it he was a hard man in a hard profession with his own moral standards but who still felt a bit of guilt and responsibility for dragging Baby in to the job. Actually that very noirish now that I think about it. When everything fell to pieces he does the right thing as he sees it and try to help Baby and Debora - which probably didn't work out as well as he'd expected. I enjoyed the film but find it disconerting that film makers are now using the music of my youth for retro-quirky soundtracks - guess I'm getting old. Where did the 'serves 5 years' come from? I watched last night and assumed the leaving prison scene was a daydream prompted by the post cards Debora sent him. Now that I think about it I'm wondering about the significance of so many of the cards being blank. But having said that I'm not sure about the ending either. I favour a completely unrealistic driving off in to the sunset for a happy ending. Agreed. Wandered into it by accident and really enjoyed it. I think it's a good fun little movie and much much better than many big budget productions. It's a stylish funny gore fest and the cast nail it. I think this is one of those films that is so bad it becomes enjoyable. There is a lot of naff dialogue, the CGI is over the top, the story is both predictable and silly. But if you can get past that, enjoy the pretty people and assume it's supposed to be a grandiose Carry On Denial (did you see what I did there?) then it's actually watchable. Well her current physical shape looked pretty good to me 😃 I've always liked this film. I don't think it's particularly good but I like the cast, especially the Denholm Elliot character and Susan Strasbourg is very beautiful. Historically it's probably reasonable, there was a long nasty war as some Cypriots fought for thier independence but I always find it ironic that there are still major British bases on the island. I don't think she's conventionally pretty but she owns the camera and I really like her dancing. Definitely someone to watch out for. First time I've seen Megan Fox in a film - not sure how I managed that. But thought she was good and it's a pity she had so little time on screen. The film itself is OK, nothing special but not terrible either. I thought it was OK and certainly better than 4 score. But the only time it really picked up the pace was the fighting on the ship which was mainly due to Megan Fox. Just curious but had you seen the film before posting this? I watched it today and thought she made a great Wonder Woman. Given that GG is supposed to be some kind of martial arts expert and had often done her own stunts and appears to be quite tall compared to the rest of the cast she certainly has the physicality for the role. But more importantly she's also really good at the sentimental and humourous stuff too. I thought the film was pretty good, perhaps lacking a little originality but lifted by GG in the lead role. I agree, I kept thinking Tin Tin when I watched it. It's a different animation tradition and I prefer the more colourful and expressive Japanese anime. But I did enjoy this film by the end, it just seemed to take a while to get interesting. Agreed. Easy to write it off as simplistic, low budget and western centric (perhaps I just mean American centric) but I enjoyed this pleasingly old fashioned film. Coyote Ugly + Cabaret + Sweet Charity + ... oh let's be realistic, it's just an extended music video. I agree there is a lot to take in on 1st viewing but I don't think that is the same as good world building. I think they got carried away with the process and self-indulgently added detail upon detail at the expense of telling the story. Agreed. The old unique feature was Sean Bean didn't die.
